Yay! Finally
Which is why they made a ton of hotfixes (Gildeds from +8s and a 50% nerf to the +12 affix being chief among them) this week plus some large Stonevault/Necrotic Wake nerfs happening on Tuesday. There are statistics that this compwow post wouldn’t cover (because only Blizzard has that data) but I’d bet good money that Necrotic Wake alone has more abandoned runs (not depletes, but groups flat-out falling apart) than every other dungeon put together, and Stonevault probably dwarfs the others too. If you wipe to Surgeon Stitchflesh and you blew lust and your Spears on the boss, that key isn’t just a deplete: the key is probably not possible with that group anymore.
This is an extremely divisive M+ season. Some people love it, and some people absolutely despise it. And I’m kinda in the latter camp but it’s almost entirely because of how bad the progression curve was and somewhat still is rather than because of the quality of the dungeons themselves.
I think what’s more shocking is that DF S2 had already crashed and burned by this point. That wasn’t a good M+ season (probably worse than this one) but that we didn’t even have the God Comp of Bear+HPal+Aug+Fire+Shadow by that point; Shadow was hard meta and Fire was picking up steam, but that season was dead weeks before Aug shat on its grave.
I think it says more to what the player base is looking for in the game. I’ve heard the affix horror stories and about the tank shortage, and I don’t doubt that’s impacting participation. But there’s certainly been a lot of positivity around delves that I’m just not seeing on the Mythic side of things.
Bliz must be happy to see the things are moving forward to intended direction, M+ is only for top 5% Elites.
They should have done the easy and obvious thing and killed Fort and Tyran like they did with the unfun affixes.
35-40% of the max-level population engages with M+ depending on the season. M+ is not going away any time soon.
Delves are going to split the M+ population.
Ran a couple 4 mists for crests today, but than I started to miss Brann and the random puzzles and went back to my daily 4 delves.
I don’t understand the point in the timer. It makes communication almost non existent in pugs unless stuff goes bad. (Which in turn pushes would be players away from pugging.)
Artificial difficulty; anti multiplayer, mechanic.
Plus getting pugs to use VC seems like an impossibility.
Delves are just chill and fun and people actually communicate and bs in them. Adding a social element that encourages more vibing with the content. Even when I solo there is usually some fun conversation to be found with the general delve chat.
Even raid bosses have an Enrage timer. Taking forever to clear a challenge trivializes part of the challenge.
Enrage timers are DPS checks. Mythic + timers are more a nuisance that discourages any sort of strategy or communication and replaced it with clenching cheeks and hoping your fellow pugs looked at a guide or know what they are doing.
Seems counter productive.
Because it’s not meant for pugging.
It’s meant for organized groups.
Timers encourage tactics and strategy, because without those things you cannot complete the challenge on time.
Create a group and if you like who you run with, add them to your friends list and run more M+ with them. Problem solved.
The people crying are always crying about pugs, I imagine M+ would be cake with 5 people on VC who watch Quazi guides.
This has been the answer to pretty much every problem in WoW since the dawn of time. Or really any MMORPG, but that seems to be the real underlying problem when it comes to all these posts on reddit and the forums.
Thank you for sharing. This is awesome to see. Frankly, I love blizzard… but they deserve to lose even more subs… they were greedy with this. They knew exactly what they were doing…
And ANYONE claiming hard is good… yah you’re absolutely right… thats quite literally why we have unlimited scaling up to 11…12…13… 20… 21… 22… and as high as you can go.
But them making it so “grindy” from 0-10 was just a cash grab (per say) trying to get people to sub longer because its slower to gear up, and get to the real grind which is 11+
You cant say harder is better as an argument… when after 11 its literally an infinite scale of getting harder and harder.
HERE IS AN IDEA BLIZZARD…
Do the opposite… Instead of being greedy and tryign to slow down the first 10 levels… You should have made it longer.
Make it go up to 30, 40, 50, 99 even. That way it can be a nice steady climb up and up and up…
But stopping ppl from getting mythic vault, is how you lose subs. The only one thing I need to keep my sub… is mythic vault every week… and that automatically buys you like 20 weeks of sub from me… give or take. Then from there its up to you to keep the content fun.
M+ balance was good in Dragonflight. I will miss my weekly vault mythic gear, its what kept me in the game and competitive. Im struggling to get gilded crests now to upgrade my hero gear as so many high ilevel players are doing +8s. Ill give it another week or so.
I expect it to keep plummeting until Challenger’s Peril is removed. This god awful affix is the biggest sore point of the season imo.
I also think moving mythic vault to 10 was a mistake for participation because me and my friends are all running m+ on less alts.
Remove the timer!! Counting is for losers.
Exactly. That weekly Mythic vault is what keeps me subbing… taking that away from the average player (at least for the first month) was too punishing, and really makes me lose interest… I still play but blizz can see for themselves how much my play time dropped after that bull crap
I agree make M+ go up to 99, but with no timer. Just like cod zombies!!!
Is that like Horde Rush in Fortnite? That would be so fun in this game.
