Depends, I just enjoy playing my character in a challenging environment and PvP has degenerated so much at this point I don’t find it enjoyable.
M+ for me doesn’t even start getting fun until things need to be done properly, for now that’s around the 16-17 range this season. As I get more comfortable though that’ll probably move up.
Way, I wouldn’t of even gotten the addon if I didn’t get told this like 5x. Not a joke!

They did cool the affixes this season though. You only get the third one at the tippee top, which isn’t even required to get the best gear.

we are here to tell you that you are wrong. you do not need the addon. it makes 0 impact on your ability to get into groups. people can see your score regardless of whether or not you have the addon.

i figured out how to download addons for wow when i was 12
its not so bad
DBM and weakauras reduce the barrier of entry dramatically, that’s why new players use them. Instead of having to watch tons of videos and slog through progression weeks trying to actually learn fights, you just do what the addon tells you to and bam, it just works. That’s why people at very high levels don’t bother with addons, because they’ve committed the fight to memory and don’t need them.
The only people who are worse off are ones like you who think downloading one addon is “psychotic” effort, but also don’t want to put in the effort to actually learn fights the hard way, and also don’t want to just play Normal like low-effort players are supposed to.
Lol funny, seriously though I wouldn’t of downloaded the stupid addon if people didnt say I needed it. Like I said before when scroll over a person’s name you can tell.
Raiding still exists and PVP still happens. If some players choose to spend more time in M+ and less in PVP, then M+ isn’t the problem.
It’s more likely that players continue to move away from raiding due to time commitment. Many players still raid.
Many PVPers perhaps get burned out and have done it all so many times they are taking a break. M+ wasn’t so shiny that they changed their minds about doing PVP.
in the LFG window you can absolutely tell
someone standing next to you, you need the addon.
but regardless. if someone - even multiple people - told you they didn’t invite you out of LFG signups because you don’t have the addon - they were just blowing smoke up your rear end.
that you chose to believe them rather than understand what the addon does nad how it works yourself is kind of sad, but we’re here to tell you - that’s not how it works. you were bamboozled.

I just hopped in game, turned my raiderio addon off and here’s what I see when I list a key
as you see I can still see io score without the addon
The players in queue have their io associated to them regardless of whether or not they are running the addon. this has always been the case.
Yes I know that lol. I tried it out before, with addon on and off even though it still takes along time with the addon it seems it takes longer without it. Bad luck I guess
You can tell if they have addon on or not in that window because it will say raider io next to it. I’m guessing that’s why I’ve gotten rejected before and told to download the addon. Just people being jerks.
I think Heroic is very accessible now with healthy participation but Mythic yeah Blizzard can’t fix the commitment issue without basically destroying the difficulty which the people who do that content don’t want. Not everyone can dedicate 6+ hours to mythic raids a week and that is okay.
M+ and soon Delves are massive W’s.
If delves don’t give Heroic equivalent upgrades, it’ll be an L for me. And I’ll probably have to torture myself pugging M+ Again
If your argument for why people play M+ is ‘for welfare gear’, I really don’t get it. You have to clear a 7+ to get Hero track gear, and I can tell you first hand I know plenty of people with AOTC who can’t do a 7.
Raiding is a slower source of gear, sure. If you want to be competitive in a CE mythic raiding guild, getting gear from mythic+ in the first couple weeks is absolutely required. But I have trouble believing that you think heroic raiding is harder than getting the same gear from M+. Many people get straight up carried through heroic, but you’re not going to do +7s if you don’t at least kinda know how to play the game.
I’ve been done with mythic+ gear for a while now and I still keep pushing higher keys. Why? Because it’s fun, not because I need gear… The fact of the matter is mythic raiding is an outdated idea. Assembling a roster of 20+ people and relying on them to all show up 2-4 nights a week, then expecting them to perform at a high enough level to clear bosses that take hundreds of wipes is what is killing raiding. It’s simply too much stress and too much time investment for anyone that doesn’t have way too much time on their hands. I say this an an ex 2-day CE raider: raiding is fun, but all of the prep, spreadsheets, scheduling, log review, guild meetings, etc… none of that is fun. Raiding feeling like a job is what’s killing raiding.
