My Void Elf Identity Crisis Testimony

Do you still have those things though? Cause then, no, its not stealing… Did humans steal your hairstyles then back in what… Cata or whenever that was done between humans, blood elves and draenei?

That is called sharing. Now you don’t have to like it by any means. Not saying you just need to be ok with it. You can totally be upset that Blizzard shared those things I guess.

But calling it stealing is just false.

Well yeah. They had plenty of reason to. First and foremost they wanted it and so they requested it and Blizzard chose to do it. Second, it was really kinda silly in the grand scope of things. Between Alleria being the “first void elf” and looking entirely different then the others, and being what the high elf folk were trying to look like, its not really surprising they requested that stuff.

Third, It also answers several questions about void elf numbers and where or if they’re getting more… so like for Void Elves as a whole it was something that made sense. You can see that more now of course with the updated Telogrus Rift, where we have several new blue colored Void Elves and several void elves who are regular skin tones and such but are still Void Elves and still have been touched by the void.

Far as the asking Silvermoon to be neutral, there was and still is never going to be a day where its neutral. Its a Horde city. The Alliance being in the vicinity for an expansion still doesn’t change that… unless you believe the blood elves to be so fragile that even a foot of an Alliance member being there is too much for their poor delicate faction pride…I guess. Also though, people asking for that are almost always just trolling you or part of a really small group. We all know its not going to happen. (At least its unlikely.)

And I cannot stress this enough: Blood Elves are still there, still Horde and haven’t greatly changed…

Unless you count Blizzard apparently leaning much heavier into the Light bit than they’ve ever done before with Midnight… But we’ll see whats going on there when that drops.

I’d debate. You’re all being really weird. You’ve lost nothing, it made sense for what Blizzard had already put forth and helps with player choice in an RPG. None of this should really be super surprising to you. But you’re getting so lost in the sauce of your faction pixels that you’ve abandoned reason.

We got here because its where the story has always been going, its far easier to design and make a game that follows a singular neutral storyline, and the money was allocated for what is expected to sell rather than anything else.

Even doing exactly what we have seen go on they could do a separate Horde and Alliance story for sure, but they’re not because that costs dev time, resources and money.

Does player input matter? Sure, but its hardly like they made a significant change of direction or anything. The story would always have ended up here following how it has always gone. Making things more “homogenized” as you put it, is just easier to develop and design. Its cheaper.

As I mention above you don’t have to like that, mind, I don’t particularly, I’d much rather a separate Horde and Alliance story line and them taking more time with things. But this is where we’re at and players are only a small part of that… Blizzard is well known for not really following player feedback in general actually.

Also just to call attention to the insanity of the line…

This is literally insane on the level of conspiracy.

I mean trolls exist everywhere sure, and Blood Elf folk like you are insanely easy marks (and vice versa mind you) but to actually believe this is pure absolute insanity.

This is what the phrase “Touch grass.” is made for and I don’t mean that passive aggressively or anything I mean it with love. If you are this level of belief in something so infinitesimally unimportant you need to take a break. Its pixels.

Again, you can dislike where the story has gone but its where the story was always heading.

But Factions are still here. Alliance and Horde are still things. They’re just not fighting one another right now and probably never will in a major format again. We’re going to still have battlegrounds and little border wars forever though. Just look at the issues in Arathi Highlands last patch cycle. There are still two factions. You’re just being crazy about it.
