My suggestion for Covenant compromise

yeah i have no interest in any of that. the story is really bad, and the story telling is poor AND dated. anything that takes away from picking flowers or group content is generally a waste of my time.

As nice as some compromise would be, I don’t think there’s a way for it to happen. We’re very likely looking at an all-or-nothing deal, and this argument isn’t going to die until 10.2

I have some bad news for you that might be a reality check if you’re hoping that Covenants actually deliver on this identity concept.

None of it is felt AT ALL when playing the game. You hit 60, talk to 4 npcs from each covenant, make your pick, fly to your sanctum, and that’s it. From there you begin your daily quests and other typical end game content we’ve seen in both Legion and BfA. The “identity” of it stops there.

You don’t feel like you’re part of the Covenant you picked, it feels like picking a bunch of talents despite what Ion keeps saying. This system really is picking a talent that you can’t respec.

That’s fair. But if that’s going to be the case, I would prefer the system to remain as-is.

Me too! I just think you might be setting yourself up for some disappointment if you think a middleground is possible. The systems just don’t seem set up for that.

Honestly, creating an idea for compromise was mostly just a courtesy at this point.

That’s super cool! What’s it like coming from the future where you know exactly how the game plays in unreleased content?

Well, if you were not aware, the full system is on the beta for 2 weeks now.

I’ve played with it.

It’s truly how it is. The identity part of it is non-existent.

That this is a bad idea.

Might be right. I’m sure Blizzard’s version is far more thought out and better anyhow. Enjoy it.

Or we’ll see a big wave of unsubscriptions. Hopefully if this launches and it’s bad, people let their wallets do the talking. At least that way they might listen to feedback for the next one

Honestly two bad xpacs in a row would probably be the end of my sub. This is kind of my hope too, and I also hope Blizzard realizes this.
