My Open Letter to Blizzard : Mage need love

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/most

Here you are.

Except tanks and healers are required to run raids while mages aren’t, so they’re going to be inflated. This is basic statistical analysis. Do you not understand that either?

Yea I really need to stop responding to him, I think he is legit dumb lol.

I should of included, if you asked a waiter for the restaurants most popular meals he definitely is not going to be 6 items down lol. I would consider top 5 even pushing most popular, with 3 for sure being the most represented/popular.

Top 6 exists nowhere lol

the best part about trolls is they keep the threads alive and the discussion flowing

Warrior 613
Warlock 536
Shaman 502
rogue 335
priest 557
paladin 422
monk 394
mage 486
hunter 563
evoker 431
druid 747
DH 487
DK 398

These are all the parses total for just mythic, mage gets even less on the charts in heroic/normal. This would mean:

#1 - druid
#2 - warriors
#3 - hunter
#4 - priest
#5 - warlock
#6 - shaman
#7 - DH
#8 - Mage

There ya go bud, all the statistics you wanted leading down to mage being #8 in its most represented area vs other classes.

And yet, you’re still counting tank and healer specs, knowing they’ll be inflated because they’re REQUIRED, whereas mage isn’t? Do you not understand how to analyze statistics? Why did you ask for statistical proof if you don’t know how to analyze them?

We were comparing CLASSES were we not? If you wanted specific statistics, then you can only count mage against the pure dps specs. Which would still put them at #3 of the 4 classes.

STILL BELOW AVERAGE. if you didn’t want to be proven wrong why did you not calculate the statistics instead of using the word as some safety blanket for yourself?

Classes and specs. Do you not know how to do a full comparison?

Or we can count mage specs against specs of other classes. Currently, arcane is number 3 in mythic representation. Seriously, this isn’t hard. I’m not sure what you’re struggling with? Do you have difficulty with numbers?

We werent comparing specs were we? That was never brought up, YOUR claim was mage is one of the most popular classes. Are you having trouble reading? I think I would take being bad at math or being illiterate.

thats you right?

Why all the sudden are we comparing a single spec? Is it because you once again, are proven to be an idiot three times over? So now your argument changes? You can’t count them in with classes that dont have 3 dps specs, that would skew the statistics. You also can’t count them by 1 spec while we talk about class popularity as a whole.

even if we DID count just specs, arcane is still below MM and Demo, once again making it #3 out of 4 for their range.

Ahah, this is so fun to see baby getting angry !

He was trying to prove he was on the facts side and yet when you prove him wrong, it’s because he was right lol.

We were.

You do realize class and spec are used interchangeably, yes? A class that has one of the most popular specs is one of the most popular classes. Is this really that hard for you?

Because specs are apart of classes? Do you not understand how this works?

I’m not the one that can’t do a basic statistical analysis.

It’s not an argument change, you failed to comprehend the argument in the first place.

No, it makes it #3 out of all represented DPS specs. Again, if you can’t read numbers, why did you ask for statistical proof?

Oof, class and spec are interchangeable? That was you linking Merriam dictionary a few post ago right? Class encompasses all specs, where as a spec is just that, a single spec. No one says they are playing “mage spec”.

The statistics are HEAVILY skewed if you count any class that has less than 3 dps specs, what are you not understanding about that? By your own logic of not counting tank/healers because it adds inflated numbers due to them being required, you can not count a class with less than three dps specs because that would skew it as well, it would just skew it in your favor is all.

Basic statistical analysis would never let you compare anything other than a proper grouping of data. Which in the case of class, would be pure dps classes. Which mage is #3 in, which is below average. What is hard to understand about that?

Now im actually gonna go play the game, sorry for everyone that was enjoying watching this guy bury himself xD

Each class has specs Aedawdea. This is baseline knowledge of how the game works.

When people ask what class you play, they do say “Arcane mage” though. That’s because of how language works colloquial. Is this again something you’re unfamiliar with?

For classes with less than 3 dps specs, you can simply compare DPS specs. For instance, arcane mage has more representation than both enhance and elemental combined. This is how you do a statistical analysis Aedawdea. If you are still unsure, I recommend taking a class or something at this point. I can not explain it more simple terms than this.

Bury myself? You do realize Blizzard is listening to me and not you, right? Why do you think that is? Probably because blizzard listens to statistics and not your anecdotal experience of “I never see mages in my groups”.

Ho,ho,ho what a long list you have there for Santa claus.

Yes, it’s about time to make the list lol ^^

I don’t expect too much for Christmas, but i have been kind and endured Shadowlands patiently.

I would like to expect fresh things and enhancements during next patches. That’s also what I regret from before, classes used to change more before, between expacs an patches. Now they are changing only small details…

Ngl while I appreciate your clear and well thought out post, the chances blizzard reads it is less than 0. They ignored all beta feedback from mages and it’s the holiday season. They didn’t care then, don’t care now and won’t care until it’s time for the next expansion when they will lie about taking feedback and then just ignore it again. It’s a nice cycle they got going.

That’s not true. They followed a lot of feedback. They do not follow all feedback because not all feedback is good.

You enjoy it, so everybody else doesn’t matter? I’m surprised a 4-year-old can use a keyboard. Good on you.

They shouldn’t fix blink, buff our damage, or displacement because we’re “one of the most popular classes in the game.”

You’re a joke, dude. Get out of here. You are putting down someone who shows great care by writing this post with such a dumb reply.

The only thing you’re succeeding at right now is a speed run at being disliked.

Me and a lot of other people. So, if people can enjoy it as is, why should it change? Because you say so? Why should you alone dictate class design?

What’s wrong with it?

Already buffing our damage, next.

What?

Being disliked doesn’t matter to me because I’m right. And that’s why your only arguments against me are ad hominems.

I corrected that for you. If you don’t know what’s wrong with blink, it’s because you don’t play a mage. You’re a fraud and should return to the underbridge you came from.
