My only thoughts on M+

I’ve really enjoyed m+ over the past few years. And this is probably me just being burnt out on doing this season after season (which I don’t have to do, but since vanilla I’ve always enjoyed the 5 man instanced play), but damn I can barely do my 4 each week. It started off at ten, then down to four, and now just maybe one.

I guess after a few drinks all I’m trying to say is that I wish they could spice up the dungeons. Affixes are ok, but if you are going to run something for two+ years straight I just wish there was more.

But at the same time I’m not sure what I’m asking for.

To be fair it’s been a long season

Personally I’m still enjoying it pumping out 10-15 runs per week.

That’s being said I did re roll a month ago, so perhaps if I didn’t and I stuck with my original 60 (3 re rolls ago) I’d be much further in keys, much more geared and have the enthusiasm die down

The newish stuff faded out and now it feels like a chore- yup expected

So my advice…honestly is to play multiple roles…example I tank, M DPS, R DPS and heal. Each role brings a different set of skills and I think keeps it generally more fresh than it otherwise would be.

AoE cap sucks.

Too many interrupts needed to pull multiple packs - you can’t “out skill” just not having enough interrupts

Forced RP slows dungeons down too much.

Affixes have been the same for too long.

Would be better with no lesser affixes and just 1 to 2 seasonal affixes every tier. Forget bolstering, volcanic, sanguine, etcetc… Just one seasonal affix at Keys 6+, and one more seasonal affix at 10+

The problem I have for M+ is the only reward is the +15 vault each week. I wish they treated it like PvP seasons and came out with Challenge Mode/PvP Exclusives type of reward system for clearing high keys in every dungeon.

The KSM reward is cool but I don’t think it’s enough.

I also dislike the removal of RPG elements in dungeons. I know we have a form of this with our Covenant choice but we identify with our classes more. For instance if you did Court of Stars with a Demon Hunter or Prot Pally, you could instantly expose the demon near the end of the run.

Agree

Give us a back challenge mode sets

Another mount for 20s even if it’s a recolour

Another title for 20s

All 15s feels akin to 1800 pvp rating, where as 20s is a higher level of skill and those guys should be rewarded

EDIT: oh and the portal to instance should be from all 10s not 20s

Or maybe the easier affixes stay at the lower keys and switch up later on. People who are learning should have some tutorial / training wheels instead of a big leap.

Quaking, sanguine, volcanic can be the training wheels affixes, and then move on to greivous, storming, necrotic etc

I’d say the rewards should be…

  • Regular Dungeon themed set
  • Elite Dungeon themed set
  • Mount
  • Tabard
  • Enchant based on the dungeons theme

And push come to shove they could just remaster old sets similar to how they did for Tomb of Soakgeras. The strongest part of the game is the art and I think it’s being underutilized. At least in my opinion.

Since Legion we have had 2 years worth of M+ in the same dungeons with less each expansion since. 6 years of the same thing over and over, yeh, it gets kind of boring after awhile.

They really need to scrap M+, or at least run it in conjunction with an alternate dungeon mode that is not all about go go go so we can change up what we have and keep it interesting.

its not you man its the game, m+s rewards structure has changed drasticly from legion to now, before rewards were “infinite” since titanforging existed also more loot dropped rarely you left empty handed and you could actually progress gear from end of run drops, now you have a limit on how much you can progress from the runs themsleves since loot doesnt forge and its capped at 220 on top of less of it droping and the only meaningful upgrade you might get is from the weekly box, m+ is a shadow of its former self without the surprise element of titanforging it feels “empty” and lacking progression, they removed the system without putting a replacement and just made up valor as a bandaid fix

I have not too much issue with the dungeons. The main problem is the affixes. They’re not the fun kinda hard. They’re just stupid. make the affixes buffs that rotate every week. Instead of making them harder, make them easier to complete, but make the competition more about how fast, rather than if you can even finish or finish in time. Sorta like Mdi. But with rotating weekly buffs that are clearly very strong for some specs, and not for others. It would be a blast.

I personally dont really struggle with the difficulty of anything I do in the game. The main issue I run into is that the average to above average pug players in my groups make mistakes. Not necessarily a bunch, but really more than 1 or 2 and it’s a bust. I dont want to be toxic, but the difficulty of the game forces me to be. I perform my roles close to flawlessly, but I shouldn’t have to expect that from others, or really even myself. Just needs to be more reasonable. theres a lot of room for growth without making this into some bs like ff14

But I should add, I will not be playing next tier because of the set items exclusive to raid this tier. I’m done giving money and countless hours of time of my life for a group of developers that dont care about my interests in the least. Raid or die… I choose die.
