The vast majority of players didn’t touch mythic dungeons for the first few weeks (a lot of players see Mythic and get scared off, regardless of any actual difficulty), so the average ilvl of BG most teams before Warfront happened as around 305, believe it or not.
Then the warfront happened and suddenly Horde leapfroged to 330, and Alliance started getting crushed. Look up the BG stats at the time Warfronts first opened, it matches up.

Yes, it was quite the convenient coincidence for the horde, wasn’t it?

I’m not calling anyone a liar, or discounting their experiences.
But the few times I’ve turned on warmode or any of my friends did, it was a PVP gankfest with dozens of hordies. Maybe it’s just a moonguard thing, but it was totally not worth it and I quickly abandoned it.
I’m just going to assume you are right on that for the argument. I do know that some players get scared away from anything that isnt put on the dungeon finding screen. Without searching for it I doubt that it was the “majority” of players, but I could be wrong.
Content is released on a schedule. Mythics had been available to the player base since launch. Looking solely at the release schedule and just assuming everyone participated in all of the content, everything should have been just fine. 340 gear had been available to both factions since launch. They gave the playerbase all the tools needed that 340 welfare epics shouldn’t have unbalanced anything. But players chose not to do mythics. Usually the reason given for that is players are intimidated by group content that is considered hard due to the toxicity of the playerbase if they were to screw up.
Anyway, I wouldn’t be surprised if Bliz wasn’t even aware of the player participation problem, but even if they were they probably wouldnt have thrown off the content release schedule by pushing it back anyway.
Bliz making dumb mistakes such as forgetting to put an item level requirement on the WF before its release is not an unusual thing. And complaining about them is more than justified. But let’s not try to act like it’s all because of favoritism and that an entire faction is being intentionally victimized by Blizzard. Especially in this case where the problem was created by the playerbase itself.
I’m not proud to say this, but I just had to camp some Alliance this morning.
To be fair they kept coming back when they could have ran a couple of times. (Paladin and Priest)
There were no other Alliance. Just these two. I think because of Alliance not turning on warmode, it’s causing Horde to camp the few brave Alliance that do have it on. If there were more Alliance in WM I wouldn’t have had to do that.
You guys are leaving your people to die. smh… Making me camp…smh.
Don’t know if you ever played City of Heroes, but Undercity has always reminded me of a room that people called The Wedding Cake room. It was a sheer pain in the keister trying to find baddies or items in…maybe its just personal bias or something, but I always end up getting lost in Undercity just like I always got lost in that room. Always. And I never have in other cities.
Ok, so I just recently got my Horde alt into Zandalar, so we’ll see if I have the same type of trouble there. But I did my cooking and fishing quests in Undercity and never stepped foot in there again unless I absolutely have had to.
Hmm must be so hard, though you really come off like an abusive partner who tells the person they are abusing “if you didnt do that thing, I wouldnt have to beat you.”

We have quests to kill you guys in specific areas. What am I supposed to do when there’s only two of you guys running around in wm?

Why not wave at them? Or make a rude gesture.
If I am Horde, I use signals to show my intentions to the Alliance. If they reject it so be it, if not I’ll engage.
Same if I play Alliance.
Results of how enemies react may vary, but I have had many people that just wave back and are friendly. Heck… Funny story!
‘A blood elf and myself as a human were doing a WQ in Drustvar… We waved, helped one another slay the creatures. I tanked, she did the damage. Eventually a chest dropped which I tried to collect. I saw a Horde grabbing it and threw my hammer at it… It was the same blood elf. I didn’t further engage, the chest was claimed before my hammer connected. … She came up to me, slapped me in the face. And well, we both left.’ XD

Or, it could be true because people change new players arrive and you are stuck in this 14 yo WoW mindset. I mean here you are calling him a snowflake in as many words LOL. Do you not see the irony of calling it bull yet you are totally OK with saying this to a Horde on the forums? “NO TOTALLY GUYS IT COULD NEVER HAPPEN, JUST IGNORE THIS INFLAMMATORY POST IM MAKING”.
The story was true. How regrettable it was, but in the meantime I have been meeting more friendly Alliance players as well.
It merely was a sad event that happened those first few days.

puts on tinfoil hat.
I’m ready for your crazy theories!
I hate going to do mythic dungeons and getting blown up by the entrance because there’s 20+ Horde waiting to kill any Alliance that just wants to zone into the instance. This used to happen before when there is a portal system in PVP servers like when you took the port from Dalaran to Karazhan. While loading Horde would blow you up and there wasn’t anything you could do to prevent it. When I played my Horde character that never happened. If one Alliance jerk attacked you the other Alliance would not help them unless they were all part of the same group. Different experiences for different people.

This. also I just wanted to use the quote but since these new forums require that I post at least ten words and overall be a giant pile of dog crap. these new forums suck.

This all the way. In my experience, Alliance players have been much more nice and courteous towards me in BGs and in game overall than when I rolled Horde toons. Maybe it’s different across servers or something. Bottom line, out of my 6 years of being apart of the Alliance have I never came across any discussion in game about Horde bias or players just complaining non stop. It’s a stereotype that some of us has created for the whole faction.
The only thing I’m getting from this thread is that your mileage will vary, as will your experiences, and that overall, populations are a mix of great/okay/bad/trollish//piss-poor-attitude people. While I personally had more problems on my Horde alts with people and less problems on Alliance, it’s perfectly reasonable to acknowledge that people will have the exact opposite happen to them. Interactions and situations will arise differently with different people, and it doesn’t change how positive or negative interactions can impact a person’s perception.
Overall, it sounds a lot like the world in general, only more concentrated with people wearing the R VS B nonsense like their national flag.

Just saying i play on WrA and you should give alliance there a shot super friendly people… we even have a horde who comes to sw to pet battle people and not many people kill her anymore Ephie ftw btw!
I’ve been playing off and on for a long time – and as others have mentioned – there are players like that on both sides. I’ve found that if I just ignore the rude players and play the game, I can have a good time. Sure – you’ll still end up grouping with the occasional jerk (esp if you pug), but generally speaking people have been pretty nice over the years.
I don’t spend a whole lot of time chatting in general or trade chat, so I suppose that helps me avoid some of the bs. Honestly though – if you can just ignore them and do your own thing, the game can be fun despite the trolls.

I’m an Alliance player on Staghelm who migrated over from Horde during WoD. I never once experienced this.
Not all Alliance players are like that. Yes, the Alliance does have its fare share of toxic people, but not all of them are toxic. With that said, the reason I stay mostly is due to establishment. This is where my guild, friends, money/gold, characters etc all are. I know I can pay for transfers and other paid services, but that cost real money, and for me it is not worth the change. I just ignore people who act like fools, and move on.
