My concern with Dragonflight

M+ Bear Run?

Not sure I believe this. Feels like you were posting here back then, but you would be a better source on that than I am.

Players would go insane if they lost their WAs. Epic melt downs on the forums etc.

I mean…

:man_shrugging:

I posted during the pre patch era but you can see I don’t have any feats of strength from BFA. I only did enough to get Pathfinder before SL.

It’d be really fun to go and look at two or three raid tiers designed after WA removal if it happened. Large chance their mechanics would be dumbed down and less engaging. Most players would probably consider those raids to be either too easy or lower quality by comparison.

Maybe time is just standing still in SL and it feels like it has been 4 years of reading your posts?

Oh, it can vary quite a bit. Firstly, colour: We’ll be meeting the other dragonflights that didn’t become dominant as aspects. I’m sure we’ll see the brown dragonflight, the gray dragonflight, the pink dragonflight. and so on.

Then there is size and type: We’ve already seen the proto-dragons, but not the pre-protodragonflghts! They also may choose to borrow more from Lord of the Rings Lore concerning Dragons as the Great Worms, so then there will be Dragons without wings, smaller ones like great big snakes or Worms, and there might even be a dungeon of little worms too!

And that’s just the Dragons! The possibilities are endless!

How would they be dumbed down if you currently have a WA playing half of the game for you?

Yes. Let’s start fretting about how awful the gameplay will be of an EXpansion rumor…

How about we wait for the official announcement with details before we start wringing our hands.

So we just leave things as they are, no changes?

Wait, there are weakauras that will play for me now!? I’m not sure how I get them to move my characters or my raid team’s characters, but you’re clearly ahead of me.

You are definitely trolling. Aside from maybe the first run in a dungeon nobody wants to just take their sweet time. Even in classic/vanilla it was go fast as we can to get the rep done then don’t go back lol.

You regularly do as long as you’re not doing low keys or in inspiring weeks

FYI it’s atrociously easy to do and excruciatingly boring, this should never ever be a design goal

Could be.

I’m positive I posted here during Legion too so maybe that’s where you saw me before?

Yeah, if you consider having to have awareness to things happening around you as playing. Disable all WAs and see what your experience looks like.

I missed the first half of Legion since WoD was so god awful that I quit for 22 months.

Oh please.

There is way more strategy in current mythic+ pulls than the old way of mass CCing everything and wittling them down 1-2 at a time.

Current mythic+ very often involves burning down a priority target but having enough foresight to keep other targets interrupted and/or stunned, knocked back, etc and different affixes fundamentally change how you pull and approach a dungeon and even comps or specs you run with. Not like a raid where it literally gets easier with every piece of gear and CERTAINLY not like old dungeons where the “strategy” (if we can even use that word) was “mass CC and burn down skull…woo boys we gaming now”.

Yeah, this isn’t even really a debate.

So no need to alter, adjust, add, or subtract from the current system in anyway? Just looking for possible alternatives, but if more folks are happy with things the way they are then those looking for change, then I guess it’s no changes then.

There also are WAs that will literally play the game for you (to an extent)… I.E the ‘auto solve’ WAs for certain boss mechanics.
