If you’re talking about mechagnomes, I don’t mind them being added. My issue is that no one asked for it while there are more people asking for high elves.
Provided they can create a good story for mechagnomes and provided a great background, sure. I don’t think the two races are mutually exclusive
We don’t know for sure if mechagnomes are being added. It’s a little early to be jumping the gun on that.
But even if they did, it’s fine that niche races are added. I make the same argument with Kul Tirans. I like them, not many seem to though. Doesn’t mean they should ignore the fringe groups.
High elves basically already exist right now. You’ve got straight up Blood Elves and you’ve got the Night Elves who embody a lot of what High Elves are.
I don’t mind niche races. Hell, as you can see I enjoy playing a Lightforged Draenei and I have a Kul Tiran Druid.
I just hate how the Horde is getting popular races like Mag’Har Orcs and Zandalari Trolls that are far more popular and requested and we’re just getting these races that not many people care for.
And by your logic, Mag’har Orcs and Highmountain Tauren already exist now. You have straight up Orcs and Tauren who embody a lot of what Orcs and Tauren are!
Mag’har represent an uncorrupted and diverse version of the current orcish race. You’ve got multiple different identities that were lost when the OU orcs united and became the Horde.
Highmountain tauren…yeah I’ll give you that. They’re not much different from regular tauren. But Legion gave them a ton of lore and a new story, enough to make them justified as a separate race, so I’ll give 'em that.
Mostly 'cause our racials are garbage. But they’re cool enough as a race that I suffer through it. xD
I like the fact that I can play a Shadowmoon orc, which is much different from a Blackrock orc, which is also much different from a Bleeding Hollow orc like yourself, etc.
Yeah, but I think it’s also that the forums tend to attract people who are more into the nitty gritty so Mag’har seem more popular than they actually are in the wild.
B-but you’re grey. Shadowmoon aren’t grey.
Shadowmoon orcs also use the brown skin and white facepaint skins.
If you accept that Mag’har orcs being an uncorrupted variant of the orgrimmar orcs as a good enough fact that they can be a separate playable, what’s stopping you from accepting that High Elves, an uncorrupted variant of the Blood Elves, can be a separate, playable race, too?
-Blood Elves aren’t really that corrupted. They’re basically the same thing as high elves, just with a more dominant standpoint.
-Night Elves already possess a lot of what High Elves are, so even if you make the argument that you shouldn’t be forced to be Horde, you’ve still got options on the Alliance.
Ner’zhul, Rulkan and her exiles are the only Shadowmoon with brown skin. If you look through any of the Shadowmoon orc camps on Draenor you’ll see 'em all with grey skin.
Well yeah. But there’s also no other clan that uses the unblemished grey skin. You’ve got the Shattered Hand and Laughing Skull who use the pierced/multilated ones, but that’s it.
The only real change I always hear is Blue Eyes and Tattoos on our models. Never heard anyone say make them look like Night Elves. If you get more Night Elves and called them High Elves by all means you can have that.
But most people want Blood Elves with more blue customization.
