Just saw all the news about player housing, and it looks AWESOME. I’m a lil bummed that it’s only one Alliance house & one Horde house per account, but I expected that, so I’m not too bent out of shape over it.
What I’m wondering is: Can we have multiple interiors saved, that we can swap between? For instance can I have a save where the interior looks like my private house, and a save where I’ve designed it to look like my guild’s kinda office-esque space, etc?
I understand that too many of these saves could be taxing on the servers, so it would make sense to limit the amount. But even like, a couple extra saves that I can easily swap between would be so nice for RP purposes.
At this time? No. It will be like other housing systems. Redecorating keeps you busy in the game. Saved appearances seems like “if” it ever happens, we will be celebrating the 40th anniversary.
if its like any change the interior to another interior type of saves what’s in the first save chest might get nuked from swapping to save 2 interior thing in the personal storage chest if we get one i meant the bank sorry about the confusing you
Well, other housing systems often allow you to have more than 2 houses, so I don’t think it’d be unreasonable to ask for a couple of extra layouts that we can save, in lieu of that.
I’m not sure if this is what you mean, but I can see a problem arising with the fact that it’s a system where you have a certain amount of decor objects—like, having a save that you want to swap to, but “oops, you can’t swap to that save because it has Night Elf Bed, which you are already using in an active save in your other faction’s house.”
I suppose a good workaround to this would be to simply have the inventory limitations be refreshed for each save. So yeah you may only have one “Night Elf Bed,” but you can use it once in each fresh save. Idk, I’m sure smarter people at Blizz can figure out a better system than me, but I’d just really like to have a bit more freedom in creating RP settings to use for myself and my guild.
lets say save one has the bank in section A then you swap to save 2 with a bank in section Z. this might tell the game there might be 2 different bankers with different inventories type of thing/bug
I don’t disagree, and they have broached the discussion of having multiple homes in multiple styles in the future. The same way we had multiple strongholds with different themes. But in the first 18 months, I would suspect we are getting one “human” home, and one “orc” home until they do more testing and growing of the housing system. I mean, we never thought we would get a mog system, or then a way to save multiple outfits. My only concern is, does it cost us to decorate, and then redecorate? And, if they do add a stored decoration system, will it cost us to use it every time we want to change appearances?
At this point, I just want an armchair, by a fire, with a mug, and stairs leading up to my sleeping area. I can wait for everything else.
That’s how I expect it works right now, but I think it might be a good idea to make it so that it’s “one per save” rather than “one per account,” as this would make it easier for them to allow multiple saves that don’t interfere with each other.
Again tho, they might be able to come up with a better way to do that while still restricting it to one per account. I don’t really care how they do it, but I’d just like to be able to have a couple of saves that I can easily bounce between for RP settings, without getting error messages about how there’s some item in Alliance Save #2 that’s already in use in Horde Save #1.
Even if there are multiple plot saves (which there aren’t), it’s still one deco placed is one deco placed.
I don’t see how. Nor do I see how those pets mean anything. Usually when adding mounts, pets and NPCs to housing, they aren’t interactable unless specifically created to be.
This thread isn’t me saying what I think exists in housing beta right now… it’s me saying what I’d like them to consider implementing. It’s a feedback thread, that’s all.
