on my server atleast it is not worth picking up a gathering profession unless you have multiple accounts because even if you are crafting all your mats into stuff you will not beat just farming raw gold.

I value my time so it’s not worth picking up a gathering profession at all. The only reason I have one is so that my guild gets maxed out skinning.

I literally just use the auction house.
