The herb node bit is only the most obvious negative impact that they have on the game. They introduce outrageous levels of supply to the market, crashing prices and making non-multibox farming of those resources not worth doing.
Then they have the audacity to come on the forums and feverishly jump into these threads with multiple alts to try and boost the idea that most people are okay with multiboxing. The only ones who are okay with multiboxing either don’t understand what they’re actually doing to the game’s economy, or they are multiboxing and don’t want to lose their enormous advantage.
Miracles never cease to amaze me…a restored post is not the norm.
Blizzard is an actively TRADED company and since it was sold it has become or developed into a money generator at all costs mentality. Look at gold selling for example, before tokens it was viewed as a heinous crime against the community because it disrupted the player base in regards to crafting, farming and basically having fun as the game was designed.
Along came botting and Blizz was at a loss on how to handle it until they blackmailed one of the creators of a botting program to show them how it was done. Suddenly they saw dollar signs and bam the Token was born.
bottom line they don’t give 2 hoots about you as long as they make money …and its reflecting in the quality of gameplay as well …just watch we will have tokens again in Classic as well mark my words …
They’re very specific about it.
Other MMO I used to play that was also very specific about it (in fact, at the time, even having two accounts at the same time on different computers wasn’t allowed) is Tibia.
I did check FF14 (I don’t play it) and apparently you can have as many accounts as you want, but using softwares to play them at the same time may be considered automation and is a violation, at least according to their own forums and reddit.
Which is still one action per character per key press. You can reword this all you’d like but you don’t get to redefine anything, Blizzard has already made it clear that it’s NOT botting and the reason that it’s allowed is because it is still one key press per action per character.
Agreed. Thankfully that is exactly how it works.
Yes, it made sense to me from the start. I know how this works.
Tokens in and of themselves are not a huge problem. The problem is that they don’t expend enough effort to deal with unfair elements, and the outright cheating that goes on. Multiboxers will deny botting, and yet I see the same group of moonkin in the same spot day in and day out, who are never responsive to anything, even elite mobs that end up in their pulls almost killing them.
MOST of the multibox groups I run into are incredibly suspicious. The same mentality that leads people to paying extra for advantage over other players is the same mentality that would outright cheat if they thought they could get away with it. And they CAN get away with it, given how long it takes Blizzard to actually ban people, it’s absolutely possible for a multibox group to make enough gold to just buy another set of accounts/boosts, along with a tidy profit long before the every 6 months ban wave gets them.
What is the objective difference between 1 player directing 5 characters to attack a single target, and the leader of a team slapping an assist train on a target and telling his other 4 teammates to attack a target with him?
A slight gain in efficiency for the single player/set of characters at an extreme cost in flexibility to deal with exterior threats compared to the team of players?”
Okay, but its still rampant on ESO even as a bannable offense, so if MB was disallowed on WoW how do you suggest they stop it from happening?
I still don’t think it should be a bannable offense, but we’ve established that my interest in this discussion is purely academic.
That seems like an overstatement, but I am glad to see someone actually put forth some data to back up anything they’re saying. Even if it did take 5 threads for someone to do it.
