Multiboxing and Herbalism

Well written, agreed.

What about other people that want to farm herbs either for profit or personal use, but can’t because some jerk is flying around with his P2W army, scouring the zone of all resources?

I should commend you for having more nuance than most people in these discussions, though.

If owning multiple accounts is “pay to win”, then owning one account must also be “pay to win”.

No, I was questioning your statement that all multiboxers buy tokens.

Because the multiboxer can only vacuum up one node at a time. They can’t cover the entire zone instantaneously.

You or they can the process is herb and then either use or sell.

If these are the pro-multi boxing arguments, I’m amusingly disappointed.

“They can’t instantly pick all the herbs at once, therefore there is no problem here.”

If that’s the case, multiboxing isn’t one of those mechanisms. Players made their riches on WoD and Legion mission tables.

If SL launches and herbs drop to 5g per the first week then I’ll change my stance, but since any smart person will just buy and flip those I know that won’t happen.

Multiboxers are functioning as cheap labor in this scenario. Other people will be driven out of the market since gold earned will be too low for their time investment.

It’s bad for some yes. But it’s why others can enjoy really low priced potions and raiding goods.

It’s a slippery slope. The issue is that Blizzard allows it. The morals of it can go either way. As I mentioned in another thread like this, if I want to, I can stand outside your house with a video recorder, point it at your windows and record you. I can stand on the sidewalk and record your kids playing in your lawn. It’s 100% legal. People actually do this kind of thing. It sounds very bad when you say it all out loud but the supreme law of the land says “It’s ok to do.”

You were the one arguing that they could somehow vacuum up every single node in the zone.

I love doing this especially with herbs. I made over 10 million in gold this expansion just from flipping herbs. I never herb (a complete waste of time).

You actually can’t in my neighborhood, but I take your point.

I think most people understand this, but I’m pretty sure this is brought up specifically because people want Blizzard to change their stance. Arguing with randoms that have weak arguments isn’t going to solve anything.

We’re trying to give you solution to your herbalism problems, since clearly you have never played the game when it was 1 tap. and never encountered Node-PVP.

Back then the bots were flying (more like walking in the air).

Tip #1 of gathering, is if someone is using your route, change route, go ahead of them, find a new spot, come back later.

Doesn’t matter if its a solo player, a multiboxer or a bot.

And I want to continue multiboxing. This is why we’re here, we don’t want to have our playstyle canceled because of these invalid reasons. Reasons that are independant from multiboxing.

Ok well if you’re in a private controlled place like an apartment yeah but in town, it’s legal :stuck_out_tongue:

I understand the idea of bringing it up enough to have Blizzard really reconsider. It’s not the first time I’ve seen people complain enough to make a change happen. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

I mean they do, but not in the dishonest way you portrayed my point.

In small zone like Nazjatar where most herbs are concentrated in one area, it’s a lot more of a problem. That zone is scoured and salted because of the influx of multi-boxers. Alternative routes really aren’t a think unless you want to lose money.

Can anyone answer why threads that claim multiboxing is pay to win never address the WoW token?

Player A has 5 accounts and multiboxs to get 100 herbs.

Player B has 1 account and needs to spend five x more time to get 100 herbs.

Player C buys a wow token and just buys 100 herbs.

Where are the complaints about the WoW token?

Even if this were true and it isn’t. The problem is the zone layout and node availability made by Blizzard.
