I think feral druids should have a lot more flavor and mobility. Dashing around like a demon hunter and having a pounce like the warrior’s hulk jump would be perfect.
Side notes, I want to toss people around as a guardian druid or a warrior/ret paladin. I’ve always felt feral and guardian should use strength, google tiger muscles and you’ll know.
Tigers dash
Stampeding Roar
Wild Charge
Skull Bash
Plenty of mobility and jumping around if you use your tool kit
You certainly run forward but it’s different. The newer classes have flashier animations and big leaps and back n forths would do feral great
Animations =/= mobility. And flashy and grandeur do not go with stealthy kitty.
So turn like other classes?
They’re stealthy until they’re absolutely not
More flavor is always good, but Feral already has the highest mobility in the game for longer distance running.
Updated animations are always welcomed but I wouldn’t get your hopes up. They’re already behind schedule on a few character customizations they missed in shadowlands (one being Worgens). In addition, I’m assuming they’re trying to rush 9.1 due to it being late when comparing to prior patch cycles.
Oh yeah it’s really pie in the sky. I still want more allied race options, piece by piece druid form customization, and class skins first
If you want to dash around like a demon hunter, then go play a demon hunter.
We even have soulshape augmented with Wild Hunts Charge.
If by different you mean better? then sure.
Half the cooldown, multiple options, one of them also being a leap.

Honestly, if I could get one major change for Feral, it would be to ditch the combo points and just swap them over to astral power like balance. Instead of generating a combo point, you’d generate 20 astral power. Semantics, I know… but it would help make the class feel more complete as opposed to each build feeling so different from the next. Make it feel more druidy and less roguey kind of thing. Expand this to find a way to tie in the celestial alignments and eclipses too.
This could open up things like Nature’s Balance being available to Feral, Guardian, and Resto. Things like Pulsar for all 4 builds. etc.
Now as for the OPs suggestion, I kind of disagree. While cats are certainly agile and quick, they are also stealth killers and don’t go bouncing all over and such. They go straight for the kill. Being able to root or 90% snare a target while you latch on as a cat or bear would be cool. Being able to actual restealth once in combat would be cool via a vanish mechanic. It’s probably just me because I’m so new to the class but with Feral I often feel like I don’t know what to do once I’ve opened on someone and they survived. It’s not as straight forward as it is for Balance and such. I often find myself turning into a bear and trying to move around a pillar to break los and restealth and such.
I can get behind the latching but if you know great cats you know they’re only stealthy to close distance. When the fight’s started there’s no more hiding. I still say they should use strength
Feral with warrior style leap on a short cooldown would be hilarious, and tilt inducing in pvp. I want this. Just like I want bears to have the ability to bearhug people, and the throw them long distances.
It would make the convoke complaints a whisper, if people started getting chucked off the top of lumbermill by bears, or cats bouncing around in arenas.
I think Wild Charge should be baseline… that’s something most of the community agrees with.
Outside of that we have up to 54% (i think) move speed buff with cat, feral spec, and Elder Druid… so that’s pretty dang mobile. Our dots snare too.
Then there’s dash.
Then also Stampede Roar…
Now if they were to put WC baseline… then replace it with a talent granding vanish or maybe “Stampeding roar refreshes your Wild charge” or even “When in cat form, you can perform a double-jump” those would all be great utility options that would increase our mobility while staying within the “feel” of playing a cat.
Honestly anything that pushes Feral design in a direction that is less “Worse Assassination Rogue, but at least you get to look like a cat” would be pretty grand.
Stupid question, does Wild Charge in cat for interrupt spell casting?
No it doesn’t, but it puts you behind the target so it may cause the spell to not go off because they are facing the wrong way.
Good to know, thanks!
The only “much needed” fix they need is to add cyclone to predatory swiftness, and a damage boost to primal wrath.
Rather just have that row of talents entirely redesigned
I actually like primal wrath playstyle, it just needs to do a bit more damage to keep up with the “meta” aoe classes.
I don’t disagree - just think we’d be better off with PW baseline and a better ability for AoE burst
