I’d poop my pants if I was a streamer, had maybe 200 codes and thought “ahhh I could give back to my followers” and then it’s on wowhead the next day and called an event.
You might be right

They did a similar event in FFXIV, this was sponsored and planned by Mountain Dew, the codes were likely put aside for this promotion
The streamer did mention (on stream) that he had somebody on the inside to have them invite him into the group, he also gave out codes to his chat
Yeah sounds like a case of “my uncle works for pepsico mtndew marketing and said it would be cool if I gave out some codes on stream in game to help promote the event.” next thing you know it’s posted on wowhead and tweeted on X after you and your buddy made new characters for screenshots last week and got 100-200 individual 100 point codes to pass out.
He name-dropped the person, it sounded like another streamer but idk
Also again, they did this for FFXIV, Big Sippin and The Mountain Dewd were part of that promotion too
I can’t knock the event cause I wasn’t there, but I applaud the effort to try and do an RP event as well as pass out some free codes and get people engaged in game, even if it is engaging in group disappointment, at least they tried.
It’s one of those "Nice to see more player RP events " kind of notions.
In a sense it also sets the bar, gives other players the idea to try and capitalize and do their own RP events.
And I can say I met Leeroy Jenkins
I redeemed my code on Wednesday and they still havent sent me the email for the bike. I chose a pet too and that email came right away. I sent an email to their customer support and their auto response said allow up to 72 hours for the code, and also 72 business hours for a customer support reply.
Hope you get yours. I definitely made the right call redeeming it when I did, it looks like the mount just sold out… somehow? Not sure how you can sell out of a digital product like that, unless Blizz was stingy with redemption codes for some reason.
Either way, hope yours arrives with no issue.
Nothing yet, but I am checking everyday for one of the two emails. I don’t know why this is being handled so poorly. Maybe they underestimated WoW’s players and our love for mount collecting.
