No they shouldn’t “fix it” (except Soundless.) Mounts are cosmetic. There is nothing wrong with them being rare.

Looks like I am going to skip Soundless and invest my time elsewhere. I didn’t collect all those mounts from WoD, it was exhausting.
I think they have increased the drop rate of some of the older mounts though since I got the Astral Cloud Serpent on a one-time run bringing a friend. They also drop personal loot so if you go in with a friend whomever gets the drop it is theirs.
The following week she got the Astral Cloud Serpent too. That was bizarre, how can THAT be luck?
So I did some digging on wowhead and I know the numbers are not completely reliable but what I found was the junkyard drifter has a 0.5% drop rate along with soundless and the arachnoid harvester mount has a 0.3%.
compare that to the Darkshore and Arethi Highlands mounts that average to about a 6.0% drop rate and you can see why they are not dropping. I agree that the Mechagon mount drops should be similar to Darkshore’s and Arethi Highlands when it comes to their drops because I don’t have either of the mount yet myself.

Whoa… that is seriously ridiculous!
That is less of a chance than most other mounts I farm, no wonder why everyone is giving up!

I agree. Two days ago I hit 399/ 400. Since then I found Pathrunner and got the Swift Breezestrider, and Horridon dropped his mount.
In spite of these two additions, I am STILL 399/ 400 on all characters.
Since then I’ve been farming insanely with every 110 plus, and on four accounts I have ALOT, and yet nothing drops.
Well Gratz on those! Takes dedication or dumb luck.
I ran LFR in Legion with several toons I have not even bothered to level in BFA and will go into retirement, but finally the Antoran Charhound dropped on the final day of LFR for my priest. While not my rarest mount, definitely the one that I prize the most for that luck of the draw!
I thought Onyxia was going to be a big deal.

I installed an addon called ‘Saved Instances’ which keeps track of which character has done what. So I’m making sure I do the four Pandaria bosses every week, Rukhmar and then Throne of Four Winds. I do Stonecore and Zul’gurub… arghh… it’s taking all my time!

Yeah, I have given up farming these type of mounts. I use to farm with 4ish characters everyday. My luck is horrible and its gotten old so I don’t bother anymore.
Man, the more I read in this thread the more I realized how lucky I was. Keep plugging at it, I guess. And keep working towards Mechadone. While that is also based on some RNG, it’s hopefully not quite as bad as the mount drop rates.
I gave up screw them for making the rate so low. At least have a short respawn if its low drop rate.
My answer was to farm one location with whatever alts I had, and now that I know that I can cart friends along and not have to worry about sharing the loot if a mount drops. All the merrier.
But when they drop rates are so low, that is too discouraging. I’ll never get to 400 by the end of this xpac and make up 45 more mounts. Just another reason that lookin for a new hobby seems the best alternative LOL.
if it takes you 15-20 mintues to do an island, you’re doing something very wrong 
Drop rates are too low for rust and the spawn timer on soundless is memes. It’s not worth the time. Even if they were 1%, it would still be a chore
Ok, perhaps it ‘feels-like’ 15-20 minutes? Needless to say after one I do not want another thank you very much.
I still kill Rustfeather 1-2 times a day hoping for the mount. I got 2x Mechanostrider mounts and I only killed him like 10 times.
Sometimes there’s 40 people waiting for Rustfeather. Other times I announce it in /1 and wait a bit for anyone else to show up.

No. They need to keep cosmetics rare imo. This isn’t the World of Everyone has Everything Craft. Rarity keeps things special. Giving things away diminishes the time put in. That’s why 100% drop mounts in mythic are reduced to 1% when the content becomes trivial. Not everyone is supposed to have everything.

Not anymore, so it seems during the time I am there. From the earlier post it makes sense why, with a 0.3% drop rate!
If you got the drop twice, you are done. The RNG Gods blessed you. You can quit now, you won.
I got the bike to drop…I thought it was a Galvanic Oscillator that didnt stack or a weird part.

If they were only cosmetic then they would not be reward, plain and simple.
We’re suggesting a reasonable and even low chance, not abysmal to impossible. There is a big difference there.

Im an oppourtunist. Since I got exalted with Mechagon (got my essences and etc.) I dont go back to often. Generally its to farm Ionized Minnows.
If Rust or Harvester spawns while im there ill go for it. Otherwise… meh. Mounts arent all that useful to a Druid.
Ive got a couple cool ones from blind luck (Like stonecore) and I buy all the swag, including mounts, you unlock getting exalted with various factions. Thats about it though.
