Yeah exactly, this was fun. I seriously had been wondering what you’d be up to now. I know you guys were all saying “when this goes live there will be a thousand angry posts on these forums over the water strider” and all that, but it didn’t happen. So, I thought, I wonder what they will have to complain about. I never thought it would be just randomly thought up possibilities of an uncertain future. That’s how I have come to determine that some of you just need something to be angry over, whether it is real or not, it gives you a purpose or something to do. It’s actually sad, interesting, and can be entertaining all at the same time.
Definitely in the hundreds, if not more a thousand. Some of the threads were really badly titled and easy to miss.
It’s not just striders. BFA has so many glaring flaws and content that feels unfinished. The string of WTF!? decisions made since don’t help either. And next? We’re gonna have a ‘LEVEL SQUISH!’ … which will break more stuff and looks a little too much like re-arranging deck chairs on the Titanic.
This title used to be the industry leader. But I guess easy cash-grabs are more important than being #1. They’ve lost my loyalty. They can have it back when they resume making obvious efforts to stay competitive.
And, to be completely cliche about it:
I’m not angry. I’m disappointed.
If you count the reports of the equipment bugs and errors, along with the reports of the summon random while standing in water, along with the actual gripes over the gutting over the strider, yeah, it’s definitely in the thousands.
Just remember, NONE OF THIS WAS EVEN NECESSARY. The time could have been spent on balance or introducing interesting abilities. But no, we got… this.

There’s no reason for [Summon Random Favorite Mount] to behave different while standing in water now. All mounts or no mounts will water walk, so it doesn’t need to prioritize. Unless it’s picking ground-only mounts while standing in water after someone has Pathfinder 2.
And I’ve heard that one of the “mount equipment keeps vanishing” problems was because of an addon causing it to look like it was gone.
Not sure if that’s the only problem with it vanishing or if there’s another one as well.
Over the last 8 hours I’ve had difficulty water walking around Mechagon because the game keeps forgetting I have water walking. At those times I just sink and have no water-walking buff showing when mounted.
The only cure is to log out for a while, then I can water-walk for another few hours until the ability disappears again.
It’s trying to choose underwater mounts now. Even if you’re just in foot deep water.
Personally? I like the idea of mount equipment.
I like the idea of unique mounts being able to walk on water, having an option to not be dazed while going through the world.
None of the others so far seem TOO important to me despite that, but I do like the idea of mount equipment.
That said, with all good ideas, I’m sure they’ll find a way to screw it up.

Are you saying that crafting the saddles isn’t earning them? I would love to have anti daze on all my mounts. You want me to grind rep from two expansions before this one for that too?
The strider mount and perk wasn’t an issue until Blizzard made it one.
Most definitely you earned it by building the equipment. The players that can now just “buy” them, not so much.
As the dude 3 posts above said. Now that he has flying equipment doesn’t mean crap. So it’s just more useless content Blizzard just HAD to implement.
They’ve been wanting to get rid of the Striders ability anyways. This just gave them a reason to do so. Though it was a very dumb reason.
You do realize that to buy the equipment, you need at least half a million gold right? Those things are by no means cheap because capitalism.
I will agree with you that removing water walking from strider is pretty dumb. But I can’t agree with you that the equipment change is dumb. It’s actually the smartest thing that’s been considered in a while!
Now that flying available I’d think those prices would fall.
