Mount drop rolling etiquette

Adhering to agreed upon loot rules is the opposite of rude.

Perhaps you should read the thread before commenting.

Lol I’ve been reading the thread. it sounded like you were saying people have a right to need on gear they don’t need just to sell even when its an upgrade for another party member. I don’t agree with that. If it’s not an upgrade for anyone then whatever.

Need.

Two off them have already gone grey. No need to waste any more reports.

“roll need on what you need and greed on what you want to sell” isn’t exactly something that needs to be communicated to normal people -.-

That’s fine. Host your own groups and set the loot rules to what ever you want.

Why the aggression sir? I was asking about mounts specifically. it’s veered into BOE epic talk now.

The problem is the need/greed nomenclature combined with Blizz’s awful loot system.

That and people who are offensive when they don’t agree with someone.

For me, it has always been a general rule. If a mount drops you either pass or roll need, no other options. It is a vanity item and no one really has to have it, so to prevent any issues you either pass, if you do not want it or care, you roll need if you want it. Rolling greed on a mount is beyond silly, you either want it or you don’t.

Tell me exactly what situation determines that one person is more deserving of a vanity item over another to warrant a greed vs need roll on a mount.

With the people that play Classic and TBCC from my experience, you do need to elaborate. Trusting people to do the right thing in this game is a pipe dream.

If you greed on a hyper rare mount drop then it’s your fault you didn’t get it. EVERYBODY NEED unless you somehow already have it.

Mounts are always need if you don’t already have it, period. This is not even up for discussion.

this makes sense to me but I don’t want to get in a situation where i roll need on a mount and people decide greed was the way to go and then i get ragged on for the rest of the run for “ninja’ing” a vanity item which is part of the reason why i made this thread. its mostly a “what if” thing.

Perhaps it was triggered by you calling people “rude”?

so you decided to prove him right? -.-

I mean. I didn’t call you rude. I called the philosophy of winning a need roll to auction off an item that’s an upgrade “rude”. It’s a temporary upgrade for the person buying it from you unless its twink item. And the gold you will make will also eventually get spent as well. Which means it’s temporary also. nothing wrong with having some grace with gear upgrade. Mounts are a different situation. which is why i wanted people’s opinions.

I’m not the one with at least two posts flagged for review in this thread.

Which is why it is always good to state right up front at any dungeon or raid where a mount might drop that you intend to roll need on any mount drops.

That one action should prevent any issues later if a mount drops and you win a need roll. You warned everyone right up front.
