I don’t keep count and I don’t grind hard except for love rocket, which is only available for a short time each year.

I don’t mount farm, but I do a lot of old content for fun. I got the Midnight mount before I knew it existed and it makes me feel kind of bad because I know people farm for that one.

I’ve been farming this thing on 40+ characters since 2015. Oh god… I’ve hit 3000+ attempts. Ugh kill me now.

The only mount I actively farmed was the Swift Razzashi Raptor on my Alliance character. This was before mounts were account wide blah blah, I wanted a raptor mount, the only raptor mount for my character. Not sure how many times I tried don’t think it was a too many but ZG was getting the axe a few weeks before Cata launch. I was sweating it out when it dropped Nov 15, 2010, Cata launched Dec 7, 2010.

3,000 attempts? Ok, so basic math… average camp time is what, 15 mins per attempt? That’s 750 hours you have spent in the last 5 years on a mount? SO you have basically spent 20 days of 8 hours a day farming a mount lol… wow. and there is probably far longer ones out there for other people!
Love Rocket isn’t from camping, it’s from a seasonal dungeon run that you can queue for. So there isn’t necessarily that much waiting involved, since those queues tend to pop pretty quickly and the encounter itself takes five minutes tops.
On the other hand you have to deal with other people for it so that’s arguably worse.

Nah, the queues are pretty much instant since everyone is after the mount. Plus, all my hybrid classes can queue as a tank or healer.
It’s not a mount but it’s been 4 years across 8 sword wielders and i cannot find Taeshalach.
I got the scythe and sword pretty easily but I never got the mace from Tomb.
Anyways, sending luck your way. That sword is one of my all time favorite weapons.

8 months killing kael thas, every single week for 8 months until it finally dropped, with only one character
I hate hate HATE mount/rare camping. Don’t care if it’s 100% drop if and when the bastidge shows up. Hate camping.
So I’ve been camping Blanchy spawn and refresh clicking LFG. So far the longest wait was 1.45 hours. Caught a loooot of piranha (which was profitable) but I hate this too. Single spawn point and known timing but still hate it.
My rares were surprise drops from like dungeons and world bosses that I didn’t even know dropped a mount. Like the timeless dargon, first kill, first day of patch - just hit the boss while running up the hill for some other reason.
Clueless mount farming is no-stress, no anticipation, no disappointment.
Oh, I’ve killed Kael and Deathwing and Arthas and others that won’t stop talking lots of times with no mount drop. My friend calls it the Vix Curse.
I ran Spine of Deathwing over 50 times to get the Blazing Drake to drop in order to get the green drake mount (Awake the Drakes achievement).
I also opened about 40 Dreamweaver paragon boxes in order to get the green unicorn mount.

Everything you said, and then some. If I ever do get Invincible, I’ll need to decide what’s next, since I have gotten some of the big ones. I know there are some others I want, but none compare to him at this time. Every time I think it’s him, it’s one of those weapons where the icon looks like a dead horse. Thanks, devs.
But it isn’t really even limited to mounts, as I stalk Hunter pets, Battle Pets, transmogs. I recently got Azure Whelpling from Winterspring, after running who-knows-how-many alts through there (killing over 700 mobs after installing Rarity, but plenty before that), but over 1100 kills in Wetlands and still no Crimson Whelpling.

I’m long, long past 50 at this point and still no sign of the thing. I’ve given up until they add some kind of skip to that raid because I just can’t do it any more.
I’m glad I took advantage of the raid lockout trick for ICC while I still could, because I was able to chain run that on ten characters or so for about four months until I got the horse. Now I can safely never go there again.

You do know you can buy caches with high chances of the mounts using those doubloons right?
When I originally was farming them, those weren’t a thing lol. But when the levelling change happened I levelled all my alts using them and did buy the baggies =) Thats how I got 3 of my 4 island mounts LOL

i’m still trying… i’d be stoked if i could have obtained it that quickly.
i’ve pretty much given up.
i was doing multiple runs daily for years, with dedicated characters parked out the front of the instance.
now i’ve accepted that it’ll never join my collection, and only do very occasional runs.

This is how I felt about the RP in DS (especially) and SoO. The Blazing Drake and Juggernaut were some of the toughest mounts I farmed because there’s no rushing those raids.
This might anger some folks but I had been running 10man ice crown for weeks for certain mogs never bothering with 25 man heroic… wouldn’t you know… 1st heroic 25 lich king dropped reins
