Motherboard cpu change

Im swapping form an old intel MB/cpu to a newer AMD MB cpu. What do I need to do as far as not losing windows stuff on HD? Is it difficult

Im replacing ram too

Never switch from Intel to AMD or vice versa without a fresh install of Windows.

Back up everything you care about and install a fresh copy of Windows. Always. Especially when switching platforms!

How do I move my WOW settings from the old HD to the new?

You can copy over the whole wow folder and it should preserve everything. When you install the bnet launcher it will scan for installed games or you can tell it where to look.

That’s the simplest way and saves bandwidth, but if your Internet is fast maybe better to just copy over the wtf folder.

unless you got like files you want to keep everything these days is download and play so i recommend a fresh install… eew windows.

Thats what I said I was gonna do. Just wanna know if I can easily get my WOW settings and maybe passwords from the old HD

You can literally just move your entire wow folder from one computer to another. When you install Battle Net on the new computer, it will have you point it to the folder. I have gone from intel to amd easily with that trick. Also Windows 11 is a little more forgiving of chipset swaps than it used to be. Its pretty good about getting the right drviers. Its not perfect, or ideal, but it works. The best solution though is to just get an external drive, copy all of your important stuff there (including your wow folder) and starting with a fresh install of Windows 11.

Got it all running. Thanks for every ones help.
