I took a hiatus from Blizzard games when the company’s reputation was in the pooper. I recently started playing D4 with my friend and his brother and have been enjoying it. I purchased the expansion for myself in early Feb.
I purchased the expansion for my buddy in late Feb. He plays on PS5 and the purchase doesnt work. I requested help from Blizz support and was met with repeated “too bad, we cant do anything about it.”
Another reason why you dont prepurchase game folks…or fund Blizzard lol
Do you mind explaninging the issue a bit more details rather then the snark? Like, waht error is there, what is your friend’s account not working, etc.
Here’s another thing about Customer Service you didn’t know about: complaining here is literally pointless. The CS team doesn’t accept feedback from the forums. (This forum is strictly a customers-helping-customers information desk with very little Blizzard participation beyond moderation.)
You should get a survey asking for your feedback about your interaction with CS. Tell 'em what you think there.
There are somethings blizard cs can not fix, if your friends payment is not being approved there is not much they can do to fix that. Could be messing up a credit card number or maybe his or her bank could be blocking it suspecting fraud.
I pre-purchased a copy of the expansion for myself on Feb 5th.
Pre-purchased a copy for him on Feb 25.
He redeemed the gift but was unable to actually use it since he only plays on PS5.
At the bottom of the store page, under platforms, it says Playstation 5.
I opened a ticket. Customer service states that they are unable to refund it, or transfer it to PS5…which means that the $40 i spent is 100% wasted.
To add to the frustration, it is very clear that the gamemasters responding didn’t bother to read my ticket and sent a generic “no refund” response. My friend commented that it may be an AI responding.
Returning player after a hiatus from Blizzard’s infamous era. Playing WoW and D4. Was having fun with friends, but the interaction is helping me to remember why I stopped with Blizzard before.
That part at the bottom is information on where the expansion will be available on. How ever, purchases from the Battle.net store will only work for PC. For Playstation purchases, that can only be done through the Playstation Store.
https://www.playstation.com/en-au/games/diablo-iv/ <— This is the Australian page, but you get the point.
@ayukama Absolutely. So then refund it and let me buy it for him on PS5. The second copy i bought is literally dead in the water now with no hope for recourse.
@Forumcat no I am posting about customer support…I started playing WoW as well.
“Except where required by applicable laws, pre-purchase for this product is not generally refundable, due to the grant of immediate in-game benefits for this game and one or more other products. See the Blizzard® Refund Policy for more details and relevant exceptions.”
I can not grant a refund. Use the refund self service if unclaimed.
We’ll typically refund any pre-purchased game or product prior to its release, provided you haven’t played the game or expansion for more than two hours via pre-purchase early access.
Some exceptions may apply in cases where a pre-purchase grants immediate in-game benefits for one or more products. If you’ve already claimed or used those added benefits, the purchase may become non-refundable.
Lol I don’t mean you directly. I have a ticket open. It doesn’t have to be a refund, it could be…change the purchase into credits on his battle.net account or something.
If you can’t see my frustration here, you are likely a Blizzard apologizer which…is fine. It’s expected.
Correct, they cannot transfer licenses, even on the same Bnet account. It has to be refunded, then the purchase needs to be made again.
That said, it is someone else’s account, so you can do nothing. He will need to request it be refunded, and the process will refund it to the payment method used (your card).
This is detailed in the Refund Policy (http s://www.blizzard.com/en-us/legal/58e4a812-afd0-4d47-b34d-d4fdf99e41cb/blizzard-refund-policy):
Gift Purchases
Upon the purchaser’s request, we’ll refund unclaimed gifts within 14 days of purchase. Refunds are credited back to the original purchaser.
If the recipient has claimed the gift, the recipient must request the refund. Other refund eligibility limitations still apply as listed above.
No, they do not use AI for any reason. If they did, ticket responses would be instant.
The GM read your ticket, but again, they cannot make changes to someone else’s account on your request.
If the purchase was made using a credit/debit card, the refund then has to be directed to the exact payment method the purchase was made from, which would be that credit/debit card.
I think you are missing the point here…it doesn’t really matter how it works. What matters is I spent $40 for something that no one can use…and there is no way to recover the money spent.
I suspect that Blizzard can’t actually sell PS5 games (they can only sell physical media), as Sony requires all purchases of digital content go thru them, so I there is no way that Blizzard can give you what you want. While I suspect you didn’t know Sony’s policy ultimately it is the reason you can’t purchase the game for him thru Blizzard.
Simply request a refund, if the self service tools down’t work, then submit a ticket to purchase failure.
