I recently learned that among the four-legged dragonspawn were mortal races that served the dragons and were “blessed” with a new form and power. It makes me wonder why Blizzard hasn’t really drawn much attention to Dragon related religion especially in an expansion like Dragonflight where the Flights are regaining their homeland and power. The closest thing I’ve seen to it was devotion to Deathwing though it was more connected to the Old Gods than the dragon himself and the Dragonkin that serve the aspects. We have people worshipping light, shadow, animal gods and elements but it just seems strange that Dragons remain largely untouched as something a mortal would worship.
Because someone that needs my help clearing a 5 man is unworthy of devotion.
Would Dragons want to be worshiped though? I don’t even think some in the black dragon flight would…maybe?
Not really… the primitive Arathi that made themselves loyal Dragon fodder essentially left their humanity behind and became monsters.
If Draknoids become a new allied race, a fairly likely move, then THAT is the time to make dragon worship a thing we focus on.
The Dracthyr however have plenty of reason to steer clear. Their history with the dragons is more…complicated.
I don’t really have the same confidence there. I feel if drakonids were going to be a thing, we would’ve gotten them instead of how dracthyr turned out. Monster races don’t exactly seem to be terribly popular if player population is anything to go by, and a second reptile race could be seen as redundant given how the first one had to have visages and a unique class as leverage to play them.
i’d feel bad for any mortal dumb enough to worship the aspects.
they’ve an overhwhelmingly long history of doing everything wrong.
Dragons, and other dragon kin, seem to worship titans in a similar manner to the Keepers and other titanborne races do. So, the only case of dragon worshipping I can think of is the Wyrmcult, a minor villain faction from TBC.
Interestingly enough, the Tsarek have cave paintings of dragons. Maybe they worshipped the Dragons before being uplifted into Drakonids?
That seems to be a common liability of just about every god on the market. Elune herself massively screwed the pooch regarding her Chosen People not that long ago.
That is pretty much every worshipped creature on Azeroth.
