You honestly also seem to be salty aboid having your voidfail pointed out ![]()
I mean to be fair, i really dont care, i see people dying in voids all the time, but it has been a meme since OG wrath, so its fun to mock someone for dying there ![]()
Eh best is easy to do, it never goes down just averages out your best parse for each boss, it literally only ever goes up.
His median will always be low because of his deaths and not being good enough to avoid mechanics.
Iâve never even argued that I didnât die to a void zone lol. Drinknblink started diving into my logs so I looked at his most recent week and saw that a ret pally and feral druid beat him on kt. Now heâs spent 4 hours defending why he got beaten by a ret paladin and going through my logs. Heâs sprinkling salt all over the place.
When they say mobs other than boss they mean for things like pulling more mobs into the boss encounter. The adds on anub count for parse damage same with fugen and stallagg. Those are part of the natural boss encounter. But if they didnât have that rule then youâd see trash pulls into bosses for seed damage. Also parses are only a measurement of DPS/hps. If you constantly mess up a mechanic it shouldnât take wcl to tell you play better. Although you can reply a fight and see what mechanic you died to.
Are you intentionally being daft or are you just an idiot?
Hard to say but I assume idiot based on the logs of you unable to dodge avoidable mechanics. Three deaths in one fight from standing in bad things ? Hopefully the LC banned you for the evening.
Another one of the self proclaimed one of the best arcane mages in the world who got beaten by a ret pallies buddies coming to his defense. How cute. You guys all having a LAN party in his mums basement together?
Hardly, your misinterpretation of the data is just boring and only demonstrates that you are, in fact, an idiot.
Its interesting when people get the criticism, you only have good logs because you play an easy class, as if everyone they log vs isnât playing the same class or something.
Most of this thread is Knaztor being butthurt for being called out.
You sound like a broken record, youâve been saying the same âyou got beaten by ret and feral lololololâ over and over, are you really that dense?
only bad players donât care about parses.
flashbacks of being webbed by maex like 4 weeks in a row rush through my memories
Sadge time indeed.
Smells like bait.
Anyways, parsing is an activity once progression is done. Itâs not extremely relevant insofar as who is good or who is bad, itâs more of does the person know how to best handle the boss to maximize their damage or do they even care to do so. Like Faerlina has several adds that count towards the parse, but given how easy that fight is just nuking her should really be the priority rather than cleaving them down. Since they count people do it anyways and if you want to parse you have to find a way to cleave them properly.
The most annoying tends to be when bosses are being cheesed in ways that makes parsing for you very difficult. Like Mâuru in SWP was very hard to parse on as a warlock just because of how top guilds let warlocks pad. Once pre-patch hit and bosses fell over I put in less DPS on that fight, but got a higher parse because everything died too quickly to cheese like they were doing before. I also never really parsed well on KJ because I was always focused on shadow orbs rather than nuking the boss (until pre-patch when you could).
Ultimately people are competitive which is what drives the parsing meta, and the only issue is when people take parses as value as to whether someone is good or not rather than consider how well they did on progression. If they can top your meters during progression, or do the job they need to do thatâs far more valuable than if theyâre willing to pull out every trick in the book to get a high parse once youâre farming the raid.
Personally I donât even care that much about getting high parses, but I do like to beat my records more than anything and improve my overall score. Iâm less concerned with getting all 99s in that regard.
this post deserves a standing ovation and needs to be pinned or something
I come to parse threads for the discussion, but I stay for the spicy drama.
It truly boggles my mind that some 20 years later people still donât understand parses, but here we are. In fairness Classic has had some drop dead easy content so sometimes thereâs nothing else to do, but yeah some people take them way more seriously than I can ever hope to understand.
Parsing does show skill.
For all the complaints you have Iâll tell you this. Anyone who knows how to read logs can find everything you think negates skill. Hell, the things you think merit bad play is actually really good play. Knowing when itâs ok to take damage and when to avoid it to maxamize output is one of the marks of a good player. If you are dying a lot that will be seen in logs and shows that you donât walk that line very well. All of this can be seen in logs
Add counting or not is meaningless. Counting them actually promotes degenerate play styles more, but what matters more is that everyone is on the same playing field so itâs meaningless really.
Tricks doesnât count towards logsâŚ
I like the part about knowing when you can greed for damage without dying.
Rare in classic to be fair, but it is a thing.
Your parses should be a lot better to be fair, your kill times are faster than mine, you have a 1:53 Patch kill and youre 213 ilvl.
Im guessing you could do way better if you did a bit more research on your spec and rotation, im guessing your rotation is being performed poorly.
Jeez your demo is 217 ilvlâŚthats the highest i have seen yet.
The saving grace is you parse high for overall but you and that demo are really under performing on your ILVL parse most likely because of your rotation.
Youre the example of why having great kill times and a full kit mean nothing.
Your mages are solid tho especially Thetrollrun, hes going to be a beast when he catches up to the 214 and 213 ilvl mage as hes already beating them at 208 ilvl.
You have a lot of potential to do really well if you just put in the effort.
Itâs funny reading these threads. I remember back in Classic people were upset about world buffs and how they thought it was a crutch to most folks parse. They couldnât wait for TBC or even wotlk to show everyone how good they truly were without world buffs.
Fast forward to today and we have threads like this stating parsing bad and should not just be based on damage lol. People get offended when the numbers show just how mediocre they are. Itâs okay man. We all have different ways to cope. Just wait until Cata where youâll truly shine?
Whereâd the void zones enjoyer run off to?
