More Examples Why The UI Sucks

I like what they’re trying to do, however there are still so many glaring usability issues as well as bugs and glitches, that it is simply not acceptable for retail release. They should have delayed it for patch 10.1 if that is what is needed to give them time for testing, debugging, and polishing.

Ohhhh…I thought it was my monitor. I also did not like part of chat box blocking and in general everything was too big and in your face. I made UI one tick smaller and it is perfect now.

I think this illustrates where there is some divide in how people are viewing the UI changes.

Yes, in terms of where things are placed you can basically make it exactly the same. However, no matter what you can’t change the UI’s appearance from this new “modern” look. Things like the icons, map, and casting bars all look different and it gives the game a significantly different appearance when it comes to UI.

To me the appearance is what mattered, so there is essentially no way for me to get back what I valued in the old UI.

yawn.
The bulk of us are doing just fine, save a couple minor issues

Pretty sure this is an option in the default settings menu.

OP, you must have some really weird monitor and resolution combo or a UI addon thats bonking up the rendering.

So, the new customizable UI allows you to overlap frames, and this is bad for some reason?

I need the option to have 2 rows of 4 groups when set to combine groups (vertical). The new groups are fixed at 1 row only and that row with more than 4 groups invades the middle of my screen. I was quite upset seeing raid frames in the middle of my screen. Some of us don’t have very large screens - I have a 17” laptop. Multiple rows of 4 groups is the only way I can get the raid frames to fit.

Every UI element needs to be able to be resized individually.

WE ALL FEAR CHANGE, to one degree or another…
I think the new UI will settle in…And I am a fan of talent trees.
That said, I can see the wisdom in launching the UI
and the talents trees…separately, as they have…
Players need this time to acclimate.

The new UI only breaks the UI of those who had UI addons installed even on the manager when prepatch launched, to fix uninstall addons reinstall wow and issue is fixed otherwise your kinda screwed. i didnt have problems cause i dont and never have used addons.

Not true

I’m a “stock”/non-modded UI user and on Monday I logged in to a perfectly fine/perfectly functional UI, Tuesday I logged into a total mess with my bars/settings “suddenly” all messed up lol

New UI screws over the “stock” UI users the most, it’s not even close

Folks that dabbled heavily in “custom” addon UIs (elvUI, etc) were already used to bars, boxes, windows being in strange places/not at the “stock” positions

“You think you hate the new UI, but you don’t.” Ion

It’s not like it takes long to set up and get used to.

We really needed another UI thread. The other dozen on the first page aren’t enough.

The new UI is fine, some of you are just absolute whiners about everything.

For years, people were forced to use UI addons to change their UI to something more preferable for them. You were fine with this. Because it accommodated to you, but now that you’re on the other side of the fence, potentially needing an addon for your UI to feel comfortable. You’re upset. I agree, it needs more customizability, and in time, it likely will have more. So maybe, just maybe, give it a chance, I’ve played with the base blizzard UI for 14 years, and this was a culture shock to me, and I’ve found that I actually liked it. If I can. You certainly can too!
