How would you go about doing it now? The Demon Hunters do not have any purpose, I guess you could argue that they are now trying to protect what is left of Azeroth. However, Demon Hunters were made through a process that destroyed many of them. They are rather rare at this point compared to the other classes. Throw in the wars that have happened, not many should be left and it isn’t like they are replenishing their ranks.
If anything, the elves should be seeking to be paladins so they can cleanse the world of undead. Or uh… druids, since druids are the opposite of necromancy via life magic? Or through demon hunter logic, they should be making themselves death knights so they can use death magic against death entities…
I suppose the reference is to Felwood, which used to be part of the Greater Ashenvale forest, the losses at Hyjal, and the loss of their immortality with Nordrassil’s destruction.

Gallywix was just discovered hanging out with the Brokers in the new mega dungeon in 9.1.

Meh pretty much sums up my thoughts too, was just adding that for reference.
The discussion, as I saw it, was purely speculative for entertainment purposes. I don’t see how it could be made a reality outside the cool rule. I don’t think that is really in question here.
I want it as much as the next person. However, if we want some sort of decent stories… we stop pushing for things that do not make logical sense. It is rather foolish to complain about how insane the writing is and then in the other hand want something that is equally insane.
Seeing a Panda zooming around with tattered wings would be a sight to behold!
Instead of opening up races, I’d like to see another sub-class. I could see a DPS/Healer hybrid; imagine converting a certain % of their aoe dmg into aoe healing etc.

Even though I’m a proponent of opening up every class to every race, because I honestly do believe an explanation could be given for all of them, if I were writing for blizzard the classes would be even more restricted than they are now.
