More and more gold farming bots are appearing in Scarlet Monastery.

They are usually level 58 mages. I report them every day. Some bots get banned every day, but more bots keep coming to Azeroth. I feel like one person alone can’t make much of a difference. I hope more people can report them with me. More importantly, I hope Blizzard will pay attention to this situation and take action.

Blizzard has put attention in to this for years now, and have even said themselves they will never be able to fully eradicate this issue. Accept this, keep reporting like normal, and move on

Someone claimed they just did a ban wave earlier this week… from the amount of bots I’m seeing, I’m calling bs.

Unfortunately there’s no way for Blizzard to accurately track them down. They’d have to all congregate into one area, play one specific class, be scripted to play the exact same way ever run, and even with all that said they’d really need to be using gibberish names to easily identify them as non-players to even have a chance at being able to deal with them in a reasonable timeframe.

Alas, they are too crafty for Blizzard. There’s nothing we can do.

I search for level 58 characters in Scarlet Monastery and report them every day. A few days ago, there were only about 5-20. But maybe because Blizzard can’t take action in time, today I found over 50 bots. And besides mages, warrior bots have started showing up too.

Or, the bots got banned, boosted to 58 and need to relevel?

troll frost mages are all bots so if you see one report them

I seriously don’t get why Blizzard lets bots ruin this game. If I worked there, I’d be hunting bots 24/7. Is it really that hard?

How do I know you’re not reporting farmers that aren’t bots?

And a follow-up question…

How exactly is a bot minding his own business in his own instance affecting you?

No answers to my questions huh?

Makes me wonder if the botting issue…

Is even an issue at all.

They could do a lot if they had actual GMs. Stop making excuse for multi-billion dollar companies that abdicate their moderating responsibilities.

They wont. Blizzard does not care and its pretty funny at this point people think they still do. Well actually they do care, they want the bots its huge money for them. HUGE. I mean all they have to do is hire 20 people and pay them $20 an hour to monitor obvious bot activity for 8 hours a day and it would cut the bot activity in half in 2 weeks probably more. They dont want that to happen it’s obvious.

funny how private servers being run by unpaid volunteers in their spare time can handle bots but a multi billion dollar game dev can’t

and since I know your next line is going to be “blizz has more players to handle”, blizz also has an order of magnitude more money and employees than a private server

lmao

The true reason why blizz will never take serious action against bots is because it costs money and has little/no return on investment; it’s that simple

No really - he has a point. Bots in the open world now, they are a royal P.I.T.A, mining the ores you’d like to mine, picking my flowers, killing all of ours’ mobs, but inside a dungeon? There’s afaik no limit on number of instances, they cannot ‘use up’ all the good drops, they cannot so to say, empty that dungeon of anything for you and me. I just wish all bots stayed in there, then I could play.

Every hunter bot all over outlands farming motes has a randomized named with chinese character pet names. Pretty easy to find. Or just send a gm to the known botting spots like they used to.

Oh snap.

…Guys, I’m starting to think Blizzard might just be lazy, incompetent, and/or don’t care.
