Moratorium on Multi-Boxers in SL

no…its not. Otherwise you all wouldnt have to post on alts to pad threads…and huge numbers of players would be reporting and complaining about it…not eight of you posting on 57 alts.

wrong…its nearly always the same players posting on alts…like YOU tried to get away with above.

Really.
I level two or three new characters PER WEEK, guy…and for some reason I dont have a single boxer problem.

so now the rang is out to get you too?

SORRY GUY…but its NOT ON US to prove a negative.
YOU have to PROVE its actually a systemic problem and not a YOU thing…ie you complaining over thinking this game isnt a MMO WAR game.

sorry…but ZERO evidence of this statement…and if you all didnt post on multiple alts per thread it might not hurt your case

Bots and multiboxers are two different things.

Bots and multiboxers are two different things.

Great point! This post is really just focused on multi-boxers who target leveling areas and disrupt players there. While Bots may do that as well, there’s a path in Blizz to complain and have them removed. However, multiboxers in leveling areas killing all the items needed for leveling are still allowed.

This really boils down to multi-boxer behavior. if they didn’t camp levelling areas, I doubt folks would have a problem. But a dominant strategy in the MB community is something called the 2x4.

In areas where there is an expectation of a high density of players all attempting to kill the same MOB type, Blizz has a system which progressively increases the spawn rate or ensures there x-number of a given type of MOB are always available. This will also take into consideration that player density in that area as well. When a new expansion is launched there are a large number of these areas specifically to allow a large number of players to be able to complete levelling quests without having such a high degree of competition that players leave.

Normally in a 2x4 arrangement, there will be 2 groups of multiboxed characters. These groups will be placed in the areas most likely to attract/kill the most MOB’s and loot them.

When Multiboxers use this technique in an area that is used actively for leveling, the result is they will strip the area bare of resources and continue doing so at will. This strategy is used in a number of places today, but if you go to Suramar at the lowest end of the left part of the horseshoe, you’ll normally find a good example of multiboxers running a 2x4.

The purpose of this thread is to discuss ways to deter multiboxers from this behavior in Shadowlands so our progress isn’t hindered by this behavior.

I hope that sums it up, and thanks for a great comment.

Quick Fix for most of the flocks of flight form farmers.
“When you loot a node, nobody else can loot the node for 40 seconds”.

That seems a fast and easy fix.

Oh you mean the same 7, or 8 people that keep spamming the multiboxing threads

People are really spamming this lately funny thing is it’s not going to happen.

I think this fix is really the best fix for nodes like herbalism or mining. Great call-out! Now we need to figure out a way to keep MB’s from farming levelling MOBs.

reads thread
looks at post count

hm, I see.

What’s interesting is on one hand you’re saying you see this quite a bit lately which indicates a large percentage of the player-base feels this is a problem. On the other hand you have the combative MB’s who say it is only 7 or 8 of us in some giant conspiracy whose only goal is to rob them of their internet-fame and currency.

Honestly, my only goal is to be able to level without having some MB’s hoovering up the levelling mobs.

Except it’s double post count OPs and these threads never get many views. Except by us regulars lol. You can see how many views any thread gets and I don’t know about you guys but I don’t go into threads I don’t care about.

Have you played on beta? Do you know what questing is like? I have and I can tell you that there’s a quest at the start that’s really stupid and it’s going to slow down any multiboxer because of what’s involved. I don’t want to release any spoilers but just youtube “Shadowlands Intro Questline” and see if you can spot which quest I’m talking about

I’ll be boxing in SL. Make all the whine threads you guys want, it won’t change anything. Herbs galore here I come

No. Just no. There are already far, far too many currencies in WoW and you want to add another just for your own selfish reasons?

As long as you stay away from the areas where folks are leveling and don’t farm leveling mobs/resources, it won’t violate the basic premise of this thread. If your goal is to be disruptive and target hyperspawn areas where folks are leveling, then you should be banninated.

I doubt there’s very many people who have this as their goal

I think we might need more bingo boards and shot glasses. At the rate that these threads get made I think we might run out. Wouldn’t want that to happen! None could play their favorite drinking game then.

I do the same with ONE druid guy. Keep trying.

No. What this means is a small vocal and irrational group keep hammering away at it over and over, never once wishing to honestly discuss it.

I know right? Reminds me of the Classic prerelease days.

Only problem is I don’t want to get THAT drunk!!
