Just because an idea annoys people doesn’t mean it’s a good idea.
Yes, it was actually changed in, I think, WoD. I recall being frustrated in MoP when capped players would swoop in and grab the ghost iron ore in front of my ground-bound levelling character.
What I was suggesting was an altered form of that - single tap but creating extra nearby spawns and a fairly quick respawn timer. Going back to the old system would be counter-productive.
But it can also be done with gold so there’s no unfair advantage
I comment in every single multiboxing thread, I would be here regardless
A) multi boxing is not against the rules. Blizzard has repeatedly established this.
B) it is not an unfair advantage. anyone can do it. just have to have the funds and know how. and don’t even try to claim that not being able to afford it makes it an unfair advantage. its like saying its unfair that you are running on a computer with components from ten years ago, and your opponent is running somponents that came out in the last six months, giving them an advantage. they aren’t going to bring down performance for the higher end player so the lower end user has a better chance.
C) A GM will be unlikely to be able to do anything about a boxer, since, as previously stated, it is not against the rules.
D) they do raid gold nerfs ever few xpacs. and they HAVE nerfed some areas that were decent gold makers (quilrats in drustvar being the one that i used to farm. but I don’t multibox. i can barely keep up with one account, let alone multiple.)
E) seeing as they get more money from boxers than from non boxers, it is unlikely blizzard will do any bans on boxers that are not also botting.
Boxers rarely affect my gameplay. and i frequently do farming in both old and new areas and i like leveling new toons, mostly because i get easily bored with end game. I’m not saying they can’t be disruptive. they absolutely can be. but its not as bad as some make it out to be. (although my realm is low-med pop, so maybe i’m lucky. we shall see if that changes if my realms ever get connected.)
Is your bags filled with multiboxers products?
people paying for multiple game accounts with IRL money is no more unfair than one user being able to afford a top end gaming PC and another only being to afford a gaming PC from ten years ago.
also, you can buy tokens and turn them into blizzard balance, and purchase another game license, making you able to make double the gold you were doing before, being able to purchase more game time and/or licences, netting you even more gold for your farms.
if the game was not sub based, Blizzard would likely be more willing to make boxing against the rules. but, if the game was no longer sub based, there would likely be micro transactions in the game that would make it truly P2W, whereas right now its just pay to get pretty things.
(note: I am a player with the computer from ten years ago. it actually runs the game decently, unfortunately… I did’t thing about my drive when comparing and ended up with an HDD instead of an SSD. now I’m trying to figure out how to get the funds for at least a small external drive for SL… I’m in trouble, lol)
I don’t buy anything from the auction house unless it is not a mass farmable object.
I stick to my guns.
Can’t go looking like a hypocrite ya’know?
Let me know where I can “buy” these products!
Sheep Shaggers = NZ people lol.
No and here is why. Blizzard has stated that Multi-Boxing is not agents there TOS. Here is prof https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/24258
At the end of the day blizz makes the rules on what is and isnt allowed.
Absolutely. It’s not “clever use of game mechanics” when you’re literally not using the game’s mechanics to do it anymore.
I guess people should be banned for using Discord to communicate then, right? It’s 3rd party, when you can use the ingame voice chat. It allows people to coordinate more efficiently therefore it gives people an unfair advantage over those that don’t use it.
Do you use Discord to control multiple characters at once? Does Discord allow you the ability to directly, exponentially increase your farm?
You can’t have it both ways.
It’s a horrible comparison, and you knew that while commenting it.
One program allows you to speak to other people, something NOT exclusive to wow, the other program allows you to quadruple+ your profits by automating several extra characters. exclusive to wow.
each of us bares the burden of the multi-boxers around our necks like an albatross!!! it needs to stop
It’s perfectly valid. It’s a 3rd party piece of software, therefore you should be banned for using it. If you need to communicate in game, wow voice chat should be fine.
So is windows. should we ban people for that? Don’t be absurd. Your comparison is false equivalency, and you know it.
No it’s not. And yes you can argue the Windows itself is 3rd party too. So where does it end? You can’t pick and choose. It’s either all or none.
Oh btw, the windows API allows for control of multiple clients via a single KVM.
