The multiboxers and the AH barons aren’t usually the same people.
I’m not friendly to blatant cheats. You’ll have to find sympathy elsewhere.
Thank you for agreeing with me! It is very refreshing.
Unfortunately, it only takes one or two MB’ers with bad behavior on a server to ruin it for the rest of you other saintly MB’ers. If multi-boxing ruins the game experience for new players in this expansion the backlash from blizz will be strong and they will not care about the arguments presented here. My thoughts could be seen as insurance against this backlash, if indeed it is the bots who are causing the pain.
With that, this is far wider then just a simple 5 boxers a realm ,it a company business structure behide the scene. completely a business.
Dang it. I got sucked back in. But I have an observation and concern
Automation =/= Unattended
For example, many of us use macros of some sort or another. I for one macro my trickets into one of my damage spells. Now that some of our personal buff skills will be off the GCD I will macro that in as well. That is automation, but its attended.
My big worry, and this is a point I have made in the past with all the NO ADDON crowd is we must be careful with what we do and don’t allow or ask for to be allowed. Often when we use broad strokes for combating such things assisted game play mods gets hit hard.
In other words, something could break an assistance mod or external application the allows someone with limited mobility to enjoy the game. My biggest concern is it’s nuanced. If that makes sense.
No matter what excuses and nonsense they bring up. All ends up with same results. Gold, items and power multiplied for the player.
Multiboxing is cheating. Ban it!
Lets hope SL don’t get review bombed due to increasing amount of cheaters.
World of Multiboxing.
#banmultiboxing
Indeed. Thank you for that information, kind sir.
Just to be clear here, I am not agreeing with you. If you think I’m agreeing with you, then you have clearly missed the point I was trying to make.
Oh please. This “think of the new players” is the video game equivalent of “think of the children” when it comes to justifying whatever inane idea that you want to see implemented.
Kinda hard to call it cheating when Blizzard allows it and even has a support article to launch multiple instances of the client.
but then again, you never add anything to the conversation and just spam useless twitter hashtags and the botter party line.
Clarification: Multiboxing is not cheating.
and yet masses of players ARENT in here daily screaming about it.
Id bet money that even the ones posting today are mostly alts.
wouldnt be the first time. Anyone can have more than one bnet.
uh…dont billionaires who build industry have a HUGE impact on the economy the rest of us have to deal with?
uh…guy…a lot of big corps didnt even take bailout money and did just fine.
you cant make blanket statements about the economy over a handful of businesses that may or may not have been in distress when the doodoo hit the fan.
nor are they affected that much by them remaining.
and so the ‘problem’ is…?
Really odd. I make 100k a day without breaking a sweat…but then, Im not silly enough to try to farm ore and herbs to make a living off of like some folk…
now there you go spewing up the facts again.
You don’t understand Frostera, you don’t have to be sympathetic you just have to fight differently. Imagine going up against Rag in vanilla and being like sorry I’m a fire mage and all I will use are fire spells. You’d never beat him like that, you gotta spam those frostbolts bro, you’ll still beat him you just have to change tactics.
he’s been doing that for a while now. He knows hes lost the ‘debate’ here.
… I’ll give you a like.
I think you have a couple of problems here. You are making pretty big assumptions about the people that MB. You are assuming that all MB’s are just gold-farmers who grief quest areas and that’s not true. That’s a large part of why people here are getting offended.
I know quite a few MB’s and most of them just quest and either auction materials they collect during questing, make the “follow” toons their crafters for their mains, etc. A guild I was in needed a couple of extra dps for content once and rather than pug a couple of people brought in their hunters from their other accounts.
And all of these people have similar stories in how they started MB-ing. For many it was a family member’s account who stopped playing so they decided to use it for extra mats, crafting etc. Another had an issue with their account was messed up so they couldn’t play (hacked or something) and it was taking so long to resolve they assumed it wouldn’t be fixed so they started a new account. When it was fixed they didn’t want to give up the toons they had been playing so they kept all accounts.
And it took my all day to realize you have 2 threads open 1 hour apart on multiboxing.
sigh
I’ve rolled with oceanics for years. I know worst things to call them. Stuff I learned from New Zealanders.
And Aussies have fun phrases about New Zealanders too.
Made chat fun…missed sometimes now that I do more mixed crews here in wow.
Yup it’s all sleight of hand and misdirection.
