Helm and Cloak do not show anything when trying to transmog. in fact, it shows my old helm is still transmogged but it’s also showing no helmet or cloak on my character. Hide helm and cloak is unchecked.
It also shows old transmogged items on certain items while other items show no transmog at all on the tooltip.
I’m convinced the live model layer is completely desynced from the modern collection engine.
When Patch 5.5.4 migrated character data into the retail transmog framework, it scrambled the individual database flags for characters who had their helm/cloak manually toggled off prior to the patch. My alts have clean character files, which is why they function perfectly. My Shaman’s unique data profile, however, is deadlocked.
My Monk’s transmog works fine. My shaman does not show helm or cloak. I’ve tried every troubleshooting method available and nothing works. This is only something blizzard can fix on their end.
With the Patch 5.5.4 backend merge, Blizzard completely removed the old ShowHelm and ShowCloak CVar hooks from the game engine. Because my Shaman had those slots manually hidden via the legacy interface checkboxes right before the patch dropped, my character’s cloud profile is permanently deadlocked. The server is forcing a “Hidden” state over my head and back slots no matter what physical item, transmog appearance, layout file, or add-on I try to use.
The 5.5.4 retail UI merge broke the hide helm/cloak functionality that existed in Classic, and characters with those boxes previously checked are stuck with hidden slots and no way to resolve it client-side.
Because the game client literally cannot toggle the setting back on, there is absolutely nothing more I can do on my end.
