Event as a transmog farm is untouched. It’s fine in that regard.
Event as a thing to push as content/power was definitely hampered by the issue with the Frogs (and a couple other farms that were nerfed shortly after as they moved around to other options).
The issue wasn’t really the players to begin with. They were just 2x4 farming. It’s that Blizzard didn’t test the event enough resulting in it being overly lucrative to do so in the first place. They can roll back the cloak power they gained from it if they want (honestly kind of questionable since there was no exploiting happening), but the aftermath of the farming means just doing that doesn’t actually get rid of the power gap issues that started with it. They’d basically have to roll back the entire event and that’s not going to happen for obvious reasons.
When I realized what had went down I stopped caring nearly as much about playing it as something fun to gain power in and started just viewing it as a transmog farm.
I know it’s partially a mindset thing. Obviously there are people who don’t care at all what’s going on with other players. But to me, it loses a lot of meaning when I hop into LFR and someone is doing literally 7x the damage of the people behind them. Is it just the Frog Cloak thing? No. But it started there and allowed them to upgrade their gear to begin with, carry others through Mythic Raids, etc.
Blizzard ruined their own event for a lot of people and the recent partial rollback doesn’t actually fix it, it just shows they’re aware they messed up.
ok first off remix is for fun we are supposed to be able to be overpowered 2 your opinion and requests are denied on an MMORPG played by millions the wants of many are more imporant than the few aka you.
My placement on the DPS chart has nothing to do with me playing or watching. After my warrior hit 65, they went from 1st to 4th DPS in heroic dungeons. Did I give up and stop pushing buttons because other people had bigger relative numbers?
I shrugged off the drama of the froggers and just played how I normally would. It’s not ruined for me as there’s still plenty to enjoy but the breakneck speed dungeon runs making its way to remix was disappointing.
I was actually happy to see early on to see people waiting on others and whatnot. That drastically changed at some point. Like… can I loot because unlike in Retail I actually power up by looting in the dungeon? Please? Come back guys please?!?!?!
Yes loot gets sent to my mail if I don’t pick it up so I’ll have it after but I want to contribute not get carried.
I met a player who got maxed out gear from frogging for “only 10 hours”. Even with the cloak nerf, they can still solo Heroic raids.
Many people still don’t understand the huge amount of power the froggers got from upgrading their gear. Each upgrade gives more stats than the previous. The cloak is just a bonus on top of that, and a cloak with 2500 in all stats is nothing to scoff at.
I often wonder if this complaints are less about others being op and more about the person not getting to show off their skills on the meters. I just did 5 wings of LFR in less than 30 minutes total and it was awesome. Just fun madness and then you get some bronze and power threads.
This is how I have been seeing it. Not bothered by the Kermit Campers, nor excited or sadden by their cloak nerfs. Most I’ve encountered just shrugged off the nerf and random name calling and belittlement thrown at them and see if they can solo or duo certain high end raids during the event.
Even been offered to run in a few normal/heroic raids with a few Kermit/ Froggers due to being “brazen enough” to socket mostly all DPS tinkers as a healer versus using the mediocre healing tinkers (except ward, I’ll occasionally socket it if asked to, but I’ll normally just have Thundering orb / Lifestorm socketed), had to decline cause of timing.
