MOP Classic (Prepatch)
My Need rolls are not registering on epic items, not showing in chat window (confirmed other players cant see my rolls).
When i roll Need - My roll is not shown - in the native /loot window, i see the need option selected, but with no roll number next to it.
- Issue Only affects Epic Items, lower rarities work fine.
- Observable by all party members, they see my roll missing from chat log.
- /loot interface (native UI) clearly shows a need roll was selected, but is blank (also visible by other players).
Send help - i am unable to roll on loot in duengens.

Same thing happening today for us - my guild has run a bunch of old raids for transmog today and multiple times per raid we had instances where multiple rolled need on something and one person’s roll just didn’t exist
Was in a regular random Lich King dungeon and this was happening for rare-quality items I was rolling need on. Same result when looking at the /loot window: it indicated I selected need but it did not roll.
After a disconnect, it was working again.
Started on the dungeon grind on my monk, had it happen again in Shadowfang keep. So far the only similaries I can see from the two runs is a warrior main tank and the only one I was rolling against.
I was running dead mines in classic on doom howl just a moment ago. Cruel barb drops, I roll need and hearth out. /loot always reveals that I was the only one that needed, yet I still did not receive my cruel barb.
That’s a different situation than what was originally described. For instance, if someone disconnects or doesn’t select need or greed the roll won’t happen until after a timeout. The situation I was in and the original poster was in was after everyone selected need or greed, the game did not roll for all the players that selected need, rather it rolled for some of them and ignored others; showing that they rolled need but leaving the number space (rolled number) empty.
Check to make sure you are selecting the correct Loot Specialization by right-clicking on your character portrait on your UI. If you select Arms as a warrior and roll need on a shield, your roll won’t happen if someone else rolls need for a shield-using specialization.

It wasn’t for a shield, it was Ancient Royal Legguards if I remember correctly.
Same thing happened to me yesterday. Twice. Both were Epic drops. In the first instance, three of us rolled Need on an item (Eye of Flame) in ST. Only one Need roll registered. Warlock won it with a 7.
This exact thing has been happening for the last couple days to me still haven’t found a fix good old billion $ indie dev company
I received the final word from Blizzard ~2 hours ago. This does appear to be associated with Loot Specialization, which is what I suspected. I suggested they communicate this more clearly during the roll process and potentially ease up on the Need restrictions.
The whole thing seems a little arbitrary. Both items I rolled on would have been upgrades for my Resto Shaman. One was also a BoE worth 450g that a Warlock walked away with by default simply because he was the only cloth caster in group. There is also a pretty huge disparity between cloth and leather/mail caster gear pre-60. My Elemental off-spec is in mostly cloth gear because leather/mail doesn’t roll with +Hit and stacking Spirit just for +Hit is a wasted stat. Maybe it’s time for updated loot tables (/s).
I’d also add that the GMs were super cool and helpful with this. It took us a minute to get there, but we did it. 
Same thing happened to me. I lost two pieces of healing gear to someone elses needing on gear when they weren’t healing. The /loot command shows both of us rolling but only their roll and my roll was blank. I don’t know what they did to the system but it’s totally broken now and giving people loot when they shouldn’t. Blizzard needs to fix this bug and do it quickly!
want to add just lost a crit trinket loot roll NEED no loot roll showing up bc a monk need rolled on it too so it seems if u are str bond warrior ur loot prio is reduced/terminated if a agi spec focused class need rolls on it, this is stupid for warriors (which why I am glad I wont be one at 55 ) bc u need some agi for crit chance.
Warriors do not use Agility in Pandaria

That’s not a negative, that’s a dash, and Fermenting Belt is cloth and spirit, so if you aren’t a priest you don’t get priority on it
Still doesnt explain why my roll is blank, no number. And why all of a sudden a dash on just that roll? I rolled in the dungeon on other Spirit/Int items and it didnt show a -1.
Rolls have always used dashes, and it didn’t show your roll because you didn’t have priority on it

No because it was implemented ages ago and I don’t remember when
Rolls are also broken in the sense that some people were able to get 9 (3 before the hotfix if they bought last Tuesday/Weds, 3 after the hotfix, and 3 today) while other players are locked to only 6.
They made it so the quests disappears after you take it this week, so clearly they tried to address something.
