Mop Beta Feedback - Reputations and Valor Rewards

Hello everyone,

With the release of the Mists of Pandaria Classic Beta, there is one issue that is important to look into is the fact that valor gear is locked behind reputations. This may have been the case originally at launch, but it is important to note that this is the only time in Wow’s history that valor gear has been locked behind reputations, and this does not create gameplay that fun for a lot of people, specifically those that do not enjoy dailies.

Dailies have almost always been seen throughout Wow’s history as optional content. There may have been a piece of gear that would have been helpful, but it was far this extent. Not only this, but this does not also take into account how punishing the dailies and reputations were for the players that could not log in every day.

There are two likely compromises that Blizzard could take to resolve this issue, and Blizzard could implement a mixture of the two if they wanted. These two options being to add a tabard into the game like they did for the Sons of Hodir for the reputations from 5.0 to 5.2 or to remove the reputation requirement to buy the valor gear.

Mists of Pandaria is an expansion that many players consider to be one of their favorite expansions, and if the valor gear is left locked behind valor gear and the dailies remain as unfriendly as they were originally, this could drastically hurt the overall player base and result in people simply not playing the game and the same problems repeating themselves.

Blizzard, please do not leave the dailies and reputations in as the player unfriendly state that they currently are in.

I reaaaaally hope they change something for the beginning because I know this player base. When mop first released it was called world of dailycraft. The next phases after initial launch make it way more alt friendly and a lot less worse(even though doing isle of thunder dailies also was not very fun). Just let us get a tabard and get the reps the way we always have. Grinding the dungeons for pre-bis will already be awful as is.

I kinda have to agree with the above. Having the rep portions here at the beginning be a real slow start/drag for alts isn’t going to feel good. You don’t want a bad intro to a good expac. You’ll lose people before you have a chance to get to the more enjoyable later patches. But having the valor gear time gated behind something that you can’t easily catch up on is tough for me from a guild leadership point of view, if I’m not running a particularly hard core guild and I want to describe raider requirements to a set of players, I can’t reasonably include stuff like this.

Maybe one solution I could possibly offer would be to find a way to gate the dailies/rep gains in the same way as Cata currently has the increasing seasonal valor cap that allows alts to catch up on valor gear just by spamming dungeons. Maybe there’s a way to amend this system to allow for that.

It would be nice if they condensed the rep dailies like this to be weeklies and give 7x the rep. This solves some issue with people needing to log in everyday. I will probably do the every day if we are forced to, but it would be nice to not HAVE to.

Dear Blizzard, please replace the cata tabard system with the MoP system that already existed but with a small change. The system allows you to “champion” a faction by “star-ring” it on the UI rep panel. Please let this system exist and for Classic allow it to not have a daily cap of rep bonus gained and increase it to maybe 600-1000 rep per dungeon completion. This solves so many rep problems/daily complaints/ and allows people to get recipes from vendors on alts without lots of dailies or grinding at 90.
