Unless you go single target with red moon/DotC. But DotC isn’t viable now… so yea MoonBear no apex is about it for serious content.
Unfortunate. Grateful we have a build that does good damage and is tanky… but I prefer the fantasy and play rotation of DotC. May try and push it anyway.

By saying that you throw dirt to all other tanks including brew.
Again, none forces you to play EC. You can’t go to an asian restaurant and request them to serve western food.
I just tried a homegrown (but by weights of chosen talents of good players) no-apex moonfire EC build in a t11 and I didn’t understand why it worked but it worked.
My numbers on the default number sayer weren’t that great but Valeera-as-dps’s numbers were incredible so that’s good I guess. I didn’t really pay attention to my health either, so that’s another good - I didn’t have to.
Can anyone just post a thrash/ironfur macro? I’m not joining some gd discord for a macro. That’s just heiny. And I cannot get google’s completely useless search engine to spit out any results with the macro.
I used to be able to do this stuff but they have destroyed macroing so much in the past 20 years that I don’t even want to try it myself because I know it won’t work. It can’t be as simple as two lines. (Bring back /castrandom, my BC skillherald warrior really wants that back.)

That someone—maybe the best players—can do something doesn’t mean it’s viable for the majority of players. That said, you want to assert that it’s possible to do bigger keys with DotC… you’re right.
Still EC/no apex carves through Mythics+ like a chainsaw in butter while DotC currently has many issues. Not sure what your asian food comment means… but I know what I like and I know it’s disadvantaged in current content. Which creates unwanted pressure to play the spec du jour.
My suggestion is Blizzard stop trying to make one spec “better at X” than another and just make both generally have similar performance options, with different flavors and methods, then let skill be the differentiator.

I like the EC bear and the entire moonfire build, but the current meta with sundering roar and no raze is very boring.
I preferred how it played before the changes, with raze and the apex talents. It was a good mix of both.
I am not sure why did they bother with raze back then, if they always nerf it whenever it becomes viable.

Therefore scheduling connections between planes 30 seconds apart at Chicago O’Hare—as long as the gates are within 200 m—it’s viable? I disagree. Most people would miss their flight, there would be great dissatisfaction, and and many would call it a failure in planning.
Most people would likely cite the “having a reasonable chance of succeeding” definition to demonstrate the plan was not viable. Even if Usain made it to NY.
Google the definition of “viability”! DotC only lost some ST but gain AoE dmg. Overall it is a dps buff. So what makes you suddenly becomes “not viable”. By your logic, no tank but EC druid is viable. EC doing better than DoTC doesn’t mean DoTC is not capable to do the same. People always choose the better option. What you are demanding is to make DotC druid to be the best and have no competitor.
Druid sucked in threat generation, and was constantly rejected from m+. Now it has time to shine but some dude wants it back to the stone age because his build is not played by the majority.
if you are pushing the hardest content you can go, no apex elunes is king. however, for “weekly keys” you can run any of the three builds: claw, apex elunes, no apex elunes.
also keep in mind, that no apex elunes’ advantage is during the biggest pulls. if you are playing content where you are pulling a pack or two at a time, I don’t think there is much of a difference.
i run a version of no apex that keeps 2 mangle charges. i am not doing full mdi pulls so my thrash casts aren’t always hitting a bagillion mobs at a time.
I think having mangle in the routine rotation keeps my rage hit and give me decent prior target and boss damage.
so i take primal fury in the class tree. in the spec tree, I take soul of the forest, and harnessed rage. i also take the guaridan of elune talent (mangle extends regen and ironfur)
i also prefer untamed savagery versus rend and tear. it’s a 25% increase in thrash damage which is huge on top of the buff thrash already got. and that transmits into more absorb shield.
this build got me an 80% parse in a 13 nexus run. not that tanking is about parsing or that 80% is mind blowing, but
thrash, moonfire, mangle, ironfur rotation keeps me with a great rage pool, my ironfur stacks up.
I think keeping mangle in the rotation offers a lot of benefits. plus I get to do better damage on bosses.
in my +13 world, this works well for me.

EC doing better than DotC is not why DotC cannot do the same, lunar calling with a half dozen boosts for Arcane is.
The Stone Age was never mentioned.
They nerf both EC and DotC, happy now ?
