Heyas all, does anyone happen to know of any mods that will not let you cast cone of cold unless your target is in range or perhaps at least give a visual clue of in range or not?
I believe it’s a 10 yard radius, I am not sure if I would want to have an addon for it but eventually your brain muscle will adapt to it as you use it more and play mage 
No such mod exists. Blizzard intentionally does not allow the mod system to have the kind of functionality you are seeking.
This is because they want the player making decisions on what and when to cast… not a mod.
Your best bet is to just practice a lot at the target dummy. Enough practice and you should get a feel for what your range is.
can’t you set a range 10yard or something? Or is that just for seeing how far you are away from team mates? I guess just save it for when things are in melee range.
The only thing i can think of would be a Weakaura which lights up when your target is <10 yards from you. Add-Ons can’t prevent casts in the way you’ve described. The weakaura would give you a visual clue though, with the icon of your choosing.
