Hey everyone,
I’ve noticed that since the update, it seems like mobs are not dropping loot pretty often. It’s often enough that it really struck me as odd. I was grinding some mobs earlier and I really started to take note.
I typically use Auto-Loot, but even with that, you will usually see the loot window pop up for a split second. Lately, I will still see it flash on-screen for a split second but the item in the window is a red ‘?’ with the text ‘Empty Slot’ next to it. That, I know, is new as I’ve never seen that before.
I asked my buddies in Discord and they all said that they thought they were going nuts but noticed it too. We were all relieved, though frustrated, to learn that each of us noticed the same thing.
I came here and was surprised to see that no one else had made a thread, so I wanted to ask all of you if you have experienced this as well.

This when solo. When in a party " that would be stealing" and nobody can loot the body.

Ive been killing yetis for days for this god damn rod.

No, what i mean is i will loot a mob, see the loot window flash, but half the time there is just a question mark in the loot window and it says “Empty Slot” before disappearing. and it just feels like i’m getting much less loot than usual. and i don’t mean good loot - i mean anything including trash

This has been happening to me and my wife. Not sure how often percentage wise, but it feels like it’s pretty often. This was happening before the latest update for us.
The game did this crap to me on a quest item with a 100% drop rate. Y’know Gan’zulah in STV? Yeah. Empty slot. Had to wait through his respawn cycle FOUR TIMES to finally get the item.

I got this too. First there is the bag icon, but over and over they would be empty and bag icon would go away. Really annoying. Note - was not grouped.
Glad my buddies and I aren’t the only ones to see this. Can a GM or CM give any insight on this?
I’m going to bump this even though I haven’t noticed it myself because it’s the only wow related thread I’ve seen today.

same with me. some items drop fast ( low drop rate items ) some items that are not even low drop rate drop extremely… slow maybe 1 hour into the quest just mindlessly killing mobs and i finish it.
i understand RNG but even for low drop rates some of these quest items take forever to drop to the point it feels broken. this happens on a daily basis as i quest to lvl and i’ve leveled a few classes some of them are easier to cope with such as my hunter cause i can track and i have a pet tank but with my mage it’s harder for me to really kill due to spell push back

That may be due to the modern client we are using compared to using 1.12.2 patch? Don’t quote me on this.
The wife and I have definitely seen this as well. She was on her last spider venom for the dam quest in Loch Modan, we had to kill probably an additional 20 spiders for it. This is after I had all of mine. And yes, I know rng is rng, but there are some real head scratchers.
GO up into the snow area where the yetis are slightly higher level, after spending 2 hours, went up there and killed 8 yetis to get the rod.
As for no drops. I have seen it happen more recently as well. Not sure if it has to do with layering? Mankrik server here.
yea idk i’ve done quests solo and in groups had the same issue considering even in groups u have to share the quest items but if i did it solo it took just as long most of the time.

There are some posts in the bug reports forum. Loot issues have been ongoing. It’s not new. Some mobs are worse than others (beasts for one). It’s not just the low chance or no loot thing typical of Vanilla. Something isn’t working right.
Ive noticed this as well, more frequently did this happen over the last two weeks or so. I never remember looting so many empty mobs!
Yeah the past two weeks is about right. To everyone in this thread pointing to low drop rates, I want to be clear that low drop rates are not the issue here. The issue is specifically when the loot window opens and something appears to be in there but it closes quickly and no loot is received.

I came here looking for answers. My problem is similar however when in a dungeon, everything I kill is not even showing a bag icon. Nothing except the very last 2 enemies can be looted and all the bosses. Every other thing in the place doesnt even show option to loot. Why is this happening?
