Mobility Shuffle in Midnight

Very quick thread to suggest a way to shift around mobility for 3 classes/specs in Midnight. These are major quality of life improvements and a much more thematic representation of how these classes/specs should play in World of Warcraft.

Enhancement Shaman
Give Enhancement Shamans the Ret Paladin treatment. Stormstrike and Lava Lash should have ranged capabilities that are between 12-25 yards. This is long overdue and the spec is greatly held back in PvP because it lacks effective uptime. Not only this, but Enhancement shamans thematically deserve this playstyle and combat philosophy.

Retribution Paladin
Give Retribution Paladins (Prot/Holy as well) Wings of Liberty, a free-cast leap. Remove the ranged capabilities of many abilities for Retribution and keep that niche for Enhancement Shamans instead. Paladins suffer from lack of maneuverability and nearly all of Blizzard cinematic work showcase Paladins leaping. There is nothing more thematically appropriate than this type of gap closer for the Paladin class.

Warriors
Remove Heroic Leap and instead greatly improve Charge/Intervene. Perhaps 3 charges of Charge and 2 charges of Intervene through a talent option. Have this option on a choice node with something that either returns the stun effect on charge or removes movement impairing effects/roots on Charge/Intervene. Warriors are designed to fight directly in opposition to enemy targets. Charge thematically fits with Warrior. Intervene is also strong thematic utility for a Warrior to safeguard friendly players.

In short, Enhancement Shamans use the power of the elements to assault foes from near and far. Retribution Paladins leap to deliver swift righteousness to the wicked and avenge allies. Warriors charge into battle to combat opponents with aggressive force.

Nah you suffer, steed is excellent mobility.

So to sum up:

“Warriors have cool thing that should be taken away and given to paladins because warriors shouldn’t have cool things.”

Hahahahahahahaha!! :woozy_face::pinched_fingers:

That should be done regardless of if they implement the rest of your suggestions.

Paladins maintaining their range attacks while they highlighted nerfing everyone else’s is ridiculous

Sorry this is how I prefer Retribution.
So I disagree with your suggestion.

you forgot holy paladins MAKE THEM RANGE AGAIN ffs. also maybe buff steed a lil more. i love that skill way more than i should but maybe because paladin have such dog mobility, still fun to ride a horse to battle.
:cherries:

I thought paladins were getting heroic leap?

I personally think mobility creep has been nuts.

I remember back when all Warriors had, was Intercept, and Charge.

And you could only use Charge while outside of combat, lol.

Heroic Leap, Bladestorm (Immunity), Intervene, and there’s probably more now I’m forgetting because I don’t really play Warrior.

There wouldn’t be a need for everyone to have mobility to begin with if some classes didn’t have crazy amounts of it, like Druids lol.

It’s an arms race of sorts. Classes can’t be left too far behind the others, if everyone else has a specific tool.

I’m mostly looking at it all from a PvP lens though, because that’s mostly what I do lol. Could care less about mobility in PvE.

I’d rather they give Warriors some utility instead (mostly for PvE), because pure DPS is all they really offer, but that’s not enough anymore.

Warriors are still dominating in PvP, but that’s not what folks are complaining about, it’s usually M+.

Mobility is not maneuverability.

Mobility creep is a real problem in World of Warcraft. Every class should have their unique way of moving around but no single class needs multiple ways of moving around.

Restructuring classes might be the best way to get the ball rolling. Define the strengths of each class and spec and at a foundational level.

Enhancement Shamans get ranged (12-25yards) added to their attacks with no Feral Lunge. Spirit Walk remains for Enhancement.

Elemental and Restoration Shamans get Gust of Wind and Spirit Walkers Grace.

All Warriors have Charge and Intervene only. More charges of those abilities or improved benefits to those abilities. Heroic Leap removed.

All Paladins receive Wings of Liberty leap, lose Divine Steed but maintain Blessing of Freedom.

Mages lose their additional ability that returns them to their previous Blink.

Monks remain untouched as do Demon Hunters. These are the 2 specs advertised as unrivaled mobility.

All Hunter specs remain untouched besides maybe Survival. Possibly pull back on their attacks that take them to the target.

Death Knights lose abomination limb. Only if they are to keep Death Grip, Chains of Ice and the new Riders of the Apocalypse steed.

Shadow Priest gain Door of Shadows but lose Angelic Feather.

All Evoker specs limited to 2 charges of Hover without being allowed to reset those charges.

Rogues only can have 1 charge of Shadowstep/Grappling Hook.

Druids should likely remain untouched as well.

Warlocks should remain untouched as well keeping Demonic Circle and Demonic Gateway.
