Yea, you’re right. Guess I missed when they added that lol. Oh well…nvm about that.
It’s not fringe anymore, sadly. Apex Legends, Fortnite, Call of Duty, Destiny, Halo, and now Marathon are some big names where aim assist is on the level of aimbots, and there are far more controller players at the top level than MnKB. Controller makes the game play itself.
I just play older shooters now without crossplay, I want to fight other players, not people gifted legal hacks because they want to eat soup with a fork.

ChatGPT aside, you missed one major fundamental difference. Attitude. PC gamers enjoy the game. Console gamers enjoy the competition. This is not going to affect PVE. But the level of tears that are about to pour out of the PVP community are going to be insane and anybody who PVPs currently on PC needs to make sure they have a life boat available.

FFXIV isn’t like WoW, being the “best competitive player” doesn’t really matter because that just means you’ve completed the current Savage tier or Ultimate, and that doesn’t take very long at all.
The game is way more designed around average players, and there are tons of people who play FFXIV with a controller and complete Savage/Ultimates just fine by doing so.
