MM worst it has ever been?

I’ve been playing my hunter since TBC, he started as survival then I switched to MM in BfA.

I’ve never felt as weak in PvP as I do right now.

Any tips I should be following or is it just this bad rn?

PS: What is the stat prio for PvP gear for MM hunters?

Stat prio is pretty easy. Enough haste to make your energy regeneration seem adequate, lots of mastery for damage, Versatility certainly doesn’t hurt the damage department, our talents make it seem like stacking Crit’s not a bad idea either if that happens accidentally. Kinda need a bit of everything while leaning towards Mastery.

I heard a rumor that I haven’t yet verified. That aim shot and rapid-fire have been buffed for pvp by 15%, respectively. I don’t know if that makes MM function more effectively then beastmastery for PVP. Plenty of excellent players have already found success and never stopped playing survival in PVP, but i’ve never tried survival.

The buff to AS/RF did not really change anything.

AS Average hit is still only 850k with full mastery.
Black Arrow hitting as hard as an empowered Arcane Shot.

MM still suffers from doing meh damage outside of Trueshot and if you get enough procs during Trueshot insane damage.

That’s more or less what I figured. In less than a week I can test it myself. The fact that the forums are not on fire with NERF MM threads tells me not to be too excited.

After all the whining about AS one-shotting player. One of them snuck in to the class development office, and nerfed MM. Hunters main issue is other class designers getting in on their development, and messing up them.

The main issue is the overall MM design.

If we have meaningful damage outside of Trueshot then Trueshot with good procs leads to the “one shots” that everyone complains about.

IMO what needs to happen is Trueshot needs to get a nerf while baseline AS/RF needs to get their damage buffed some more.

You can give all the information you want, but Blizzard not listening. They are too focused with the specs they play, no employees play Hunters.

Damage is better, but the playstyle is still very bad. You have long “gaps” in PVP where you have no buttons to press.

In 11.0.2. you had 2 empowered arcane shots, the black arrow dot every 30 sec - there was always a button to press.

Now, you play like a frost DK - if you don’t kill someone during Trueshot, you’re almost useless for a minute and a half

Our damage revolving around trueshot is so annoying. I would support a TS nerf, while buffing baseline damage.

Our aoe as it stands in pve is fine, our ST leaves something to be desired.

So I tried the new MM changes in a couple of 2k MMR solo shuffles and unfortunately it didn’t improve significantly :frowning:

You can only still create pressure during Trueshot, which is the worst part. The damage is higher for sure, but I’m still the 3rd or oftentimes 4th DPS in damage for the whole shuffle, and in 11.0.2 I was usually first, at worst second.

In 11.0.2 we had the black arrow procs which gave the fast aimed shots, increased damage by 10% and fired the purple arrows, so we could have these “improvised” 10%-damage-amped mini-bursts with the arrow barrage + fast aimed shot + rapid fire.

In 11.0.5 you don’t have this. There is absolutely no way to burst outside of trueshot. The most you can do is pool a deathblow proc, cast volley for 10% increased damage from dead zone, and do black arrow proc into rapid fire. That’s it!

This is the most frustrating iteration of MM I’ve played in my life. I do the perfect CC setup on the enemy healer again and again and have no damage to land a kill during it! I feel like a CC bot or sub rogue that tries to CC the healer and hopes for the other guy to score a kill.

MM has a high low damage profile that felt good when the high was higher. Before the recent changes which I havent tested, the damage always felt sub par, even the “Burst” felt less than effective.

When I was playing BM i noticed a short ramp time, followed by strong sustained damage that was significantly more effective than MM at the time.

If most of your dps specs lethality must be limited to a 2 min or close cool down, the damage when it is used has to be truly lethal, or as a dps spec you serve no purpose. Quite high sustained damage as BM has its benefits, even if MM is allowed to do good damage when CDs are used.
