Blizzard has been pretty proactive with class tuning, but it feels like live is becoming the PTR. Many class changes have came in so fast that it brings into question if the team is getting sufficient feedback from the community prior to pushing changes that heavily alter the feel of a spec/class.
After so many changes/tuning we start to float away from the initial concept and end up with a muddled version forgetting the original vision.
What what the original idea Devs had for MM Dark Ranger? Was it suppose lethal but vulnerable? The rotation started out fluid, individual abilities had an impact and genuinely felt different.
October 8th they nerfed our PvP survivability which was healthy as we kept our lethality.
- Hunter
- Survival of the Fittest now provides 25% damage reduction in PvP combat (was 30%).
- Survival Tactics (PvP Talent) now has a 2 second duration (was 3 seconds).
- Hero Talents
- Dark Ranger: Smoke Screen now applies Survival of the Fittest at 50% effectiveness in PvP combat.
- Sentinel: Don’t Look Back effectiveness reduced by 50% in PvP combat.
My concern after the rework to MM DR is it absolutely feels less “fluid” outside of our one major cooldown. Our damage abilities seem neutered while their impact is bland. That 20% nerf to Aimed shot now makes it feel like it’s just a part of the rotation, when it should FEEL impactful with it’s long wind up time instead of homogenized.
I suppose I’m a bit concerned as we started with our survivability, but also now being watered down after the rework. I don’t mind being put in a healthy place for overall balance, but I surely dislike when abilities are homogenized to feel as if they’re not distinguished from one another
Right now, it’s kind of boring?
