Well OP isn’t wrong. MM has taken the design of glass cannon to unhealthy extremes.
It’s just way too uneven in design. Between the range and physical damage profile, it’s just too busted into cloth/leather.
Blizz should really take an axe to its range, take damage from Rapid/Aimed, put damage into Serpent Sting or other armor-ignoring effects, and then compensate with some small survivability buffs.
This is something that people don’t realize. Nerf hunters now, and we’ll just be right back in a caster meta.

You know if they made your spec ranged again i.e. a real Hunter spec maybe it would hold up to MM in BGs better.
Once again this is a bad idea that’s just asking for homogenisation. The range is an important unique strength of MM.
We can talk damage nerfs, though.
MM is OP now because there has to be a burst counter to the melee 100% uptime in BGs.
As long and many melee specs have 100% uptime and OP bust damage there has to be an answer. Thus MM hunters.
Until Blizzard stop using 3s to balance then this stuff will continue.

Whats funny is survival will absolutely destroy a marks hunter. Not sure what hes going on about, I can almost guarantee that a caster (maybe 2) is going to win the next tournament as well, not a marks hunter.

MM is currently the only thing keeping casters in check.

However, there is a real big issue with the current balance between ranged classes in BGs and melee classes in BGs. There was a time when casters used to complain about melee. Does anyone remember that far back?
We don’t need hunters to be caster control, we need better balance between melee and ranged because in the current game if you aren’t queueing in with dedicated healers and support then playing melee can be quite “unfun” shall we say.
mages can be kicked, their iceblock can be broken and doesn’t allow them freedom like turtle does, they don’t have survival tactics, survival of the fittest, exhilaration, etc. Mages are more of a glass cannon than hunters are by a margin.
how do you stop mm damage? kick? outrange? die?

Hunters are casters. Except worse. They’re uninterruptible from greater range and have all the utility.
Having hunters this strong against mage has allowed Mongo Melee to run rampant in SS. This might be the worst meta.
Nerf Hunters ability to kill mages, buff their ability to deal with melee.
