Mistweaver needs fixing IN PVP

Since blizz is majorily incapable of paying attention ill give u guys the exact recipe to balance mistweaver coming from a guy who played mw for 12 years in PVP

  • Nerf rushing windkick damage by 50%, compensate for healing only
  • Add choice node for vivacious vivifcation for the old version so caster mw can return
  • currently mw uses 0 tier, change that.
  • focus mistweaver primarily as CASTER in pvp. Windkick can still be played if its mainly a HEALING button for a HEALER. because of the vivacious change we CANNOT play the caster version of mistweaver. Open ur eyes devs! why am i doing ur job for u!
  • crackle is fine as it is, cus its a major healing ability paired with jadefire but we cant play it cus of the vivacious change
  • Stop promoting so much damage for a healer spec

Preach, I made two separate threads on this. Your desired changes are a little different from mine, but changing Vivavious Vivify is pretty much the biggest nerf they could have given caster mw since it ruins our fluidity.

I think that they should still allow a fistweaver/hybrid variant to be viable, but I think it is more representative of problems with the mistweaver tree. None of the bottom row talents, or the first rows of each tier that unlocks as you level and spend talent points, feels like milestones or are particularly good. The talents that define fistweaver or caster or even crackling jade lightning build are remotely in a position that leads to these builds being intuitive without researching what other people are doing. The talent tree should be redesigned to make the fistweaver/caster builds more obvious, with important talents positioned right at the bottom so that the playstyles are more clearly fleshed out and well defined.

Agreed. I just wanna heal man

If blizz is reading this and they’re tired of modifying their pve balance direction for pvp, they could consider combining pvp talents to bridge the disparity.

Healing Sphere healing buff from 45% of a vivify to 65%, 1s spawn, and add/change its effect to provide an AOE Zen Sphere effect (15% healing to the consumer, 10% increased damage to nearest enemy Melee Range)(template from Balance druid Star Burst pvp talent).

Feather Feet buff to provide Zen Focus Tea for 3s out of the 12s.(template from Chi Harmony talent)

This won’t solve the pvp talent lock as there is no fair way to combine variations of Eminence, Disarm, and Peaceweaver; but the point is to enable caster mistweaver in pvp while maintaining a global talent tree heavily weighted toward fistweaving, not significantly change/buff the balance of mistweaver.

As for the tier set the correlation has already been established between “Tiger Palm or Vivify” there is no reason for it to not already function like this with the initial damage portion becoming an initial heal when vivify.

All these changes are probably harder to implement than what is suggested by OP; ideas if your intention is to just fully lean mistweaver into being a melee spec and appealing to pvp’ers through pvp talents.

No thanks.

You played for 12 years and never learned that MW has two hero talents? I don’t believe you.

You can absolutely still play crackle.
& No thanks.

He means the tier set. This season our tier set is entirely fistweaver based, and I can’t say for certain but I don’t think the tier set is even decent in pvp or fistweavers. It’s pve only.

This becomes a problem when you see how other classes change when they get their tier set. Rsham becomes unbeatable for us because they just outheal everything on the planet. Pres evoker does more damage than we do AND more healing. Just feels bad that all we have to look forward to is nothing at all. Tier set is a gamechanger this season.

It needs fixed in PVE as well. We are dramatically undertuned in addition to having no utility. The justification was theoretically our damage was our utility but now every other healer does equal to or better damage.

And the damage is just to mask the fact mw has no utility. You could point that as the justification but right now we can’t even do that. I hate to tell blizzard every heal spec heals and what sets them apart is everything else. If mw doesn’t have the damage advantage, doesn’t have a strict healing advantage (which would make healers mad,) and doesn’t have any utility, then mw is basically a cosmetic spec. I want modern utility for modern dungeon design and a choice node that swaps mystic touch for our old crit raid buff, so we can integrate into non-phys comps. And if we can’t have that I at least want a big dps number (if nothing else.)

And right now it’s just sad.

MW had this problem last season too. Literally at the arena world championships the healers from the teams said all the heal specs feel pretty good right now so they’re confident in playing any of them…except mist weaver and then the casters made a face of achknowledgment that said it all before switching topics.

That’s the best pvp players supposedly saying that. It’s monk here the forums saying this. It’s statistics on log pages and mythicstats and leaderboards. Everyone is, and has been, telling blizzard for like half a year atp: this needs improvement.

RWF featured them for the 2 weeks they were overtuned and for those two weeks and a week after mw was nerfed every few days until a final 30% all damage nerf was finalized. After so many nerfs with so little time to evaluate to compensate for over representation in raid. Which moved them instantly into C tier by most accounts or evaluations.

And then they didn’t touch the spec for the remainder of the entire season or going into s3 and this far into s3.

I know that tier list do not define the spec but they reflect the opinions of the people who made them and those opinions are then disceminated throughout the community. But it’s not just tier lists, it’s not just AWC sweats, it’s not just you or me. It’s cold hard data that shows it.

Monk is among the 3 least played classes in game historically (prior to evoker it was the least played just below rogue.) And so I don’t think switching classes or giving up on it as a form of protest will net a solution. It must already be unimportant enough that people avoiding the class doesn’t compel blizzard.

Wow they actually listened! They nerfed RWK by 50%… oh wait they didn’t compensate for the healing though.

Well there is always Midnight to look forward to!

you got your wish, the spec is dead, good luck with that.

There are two hero trees, each one has a different tier set. Harmony is absolutely garbage. Conduit uses the 2pc, and can use the 4pc, it kind of comes out equal i think so it’s really preference afaik. No, the tier isn’t anything super amazing, but it is getting used.
