Mists of Pandaria Classic Patch Notes - Version 5.5.1 - Landfall

World of Warcraft Classic: Mists of Pandaria Patch Notes
Version 5.5.1 – Landfall
September 23, 2025

Krasarang Wilds

Tensions rise between the Alliance and the Horde as they each summon their fleets to the shores of Krasarang WIlds. Players will help establish new bases on the shores, battle over resources in the zone, and earn favor with Operation: Shieldwall or the Dominance Offensive via daily quests.

Brawler's Guild

Test your skills and show off your encounter expertise at the Brawler's Guild! Once you join the guild via a Blood-Soaked Invitation, you'll be able to queue up to battle a boss one-on-one in the arena. You'll also watch other players and see how they fare against the different encounters.

In patch 5.5.1, Brawler's Guild will have Ranks 1-7, and 28 bosses available.

New Scenarios

There are five new scenarios in patch 5.5.1.

  • Available to both factions: Assault on Zan'vess, A Little Patience, Dagger in the Dark
  • Alliance Only: Lion's Landing
  • Horde Only: Dominance Point

You can queue for these new scenarios through the Scenarios section of the Group Finder. Additionally, A Little Patience and Dagger in the Dark are part of the Alliance and Horde Krasarang Wilds Campaign.

Items

  • Players can upgrade their PvE items up to 8 item-levels on each piece.
  • Players can upgrade their Honor gear up to 8 item levels on each piece.
  • There are no PvP item upgrades for epic quality PvP gear. After a character has obtained 27,000 conquest in Season 12, they may buy as many Malevolent PvP sets as they would like using Honor Points.
  • To upgrade your gear, speak with the additional Ethereal NPC located near most Transmogrification and Reforging NPCs.
  • To exchange Valor Points to Justice Points, players can purchase the new Commendation of Justice at Commander Oxheart in Niuzao Temple. This costs 125 Valor Points and awards 500 Justice Points when consumed.

Classes

  • Mage
    • Arcane
      • Arcane Blast's damage increase from patch 5.5.0 decreased to 15% (was 29%).
    • Frost
      • Damage and Healing of Frostbolt increased by 15%.
      • Damage of Frostfire Bolt increased by 15%.
      • Damage of Ice Lance increased by 15%.
        • This also increases the damage output of Mastery: Icicles, and the Icy Veins versions of Frostbolt, Frostfire Bolt, and Ice Lance.
  • Rogue
    • Assassination
      • Assassin's Resolve bonus damage increase from patch 5.5.0 decreased to 35% (was 40%).

      • Bane of Doom damage increase from patch 5.5.0 increased to 50% (was 33%).
      • Soul Fire damage increased by 20%.
  • Warrior
    • Arms
      • Sweeping Strikes damage increase from patch 5.5.0 decreased to 0% (was 10%).

Player versus Player

  • The Group Finder now has its own dedicated PvP listing, with cross realm functionality.
  • PvP Honor and Conquest Vendors are now back in their original places located on the Serpent's Spine.
  • The Arena Ladder brackets now each have their own set of achievements for Gladiator and Malevolent Gladiator.
    • For example, if you are Malevolent Gladiator in 3v3 and Gladiator in 2v2, you will now get two Achievements, One that says Malevolent Gladiator (2v2) and another that shows Gladiator (3v3).
  • A new title is being introduced this Arena Season to reward players who somehow manage to get Malevolent Gladiator in 2v2, 3v3, and 5v5 in a single-season: Undisputed Gladiator.

In patch 5.5.1, Epic PvP gear will not be upgradeable. We feel that it would be disruptive to do in the middle of a season. Additionally, we don't want the increased pressure on players to, after getting a piece of PvP gear, obtain more Conquest or Honor before equipping it.

In future seasons, PvP gear in Mists of Pandaria is not upgradable, so this adjustment to Season 12 gear matches that. This also means we are no longer introducing the Conquest Point to Honor Point conversion.

This change is for Epic gear. Rare quality PvP gear will be upgradeable by 8 item levels with one transaction, taking them from iLvl 457 to 465.

  • With this patch, the Season 13/14/15 Mists of Pandaria model will be applied to Season 12, introducing the Alliance Armsmaster Holinka and Horde Roo Desvin NPCs a season early.
    • Players who have earned 27,000 Conquest in Season 12 can purchase all Conquest Point gear with Honor Points.
    • This allows players to get as many sets of PvP gear for off-specs as they would like without worries about caps.
  • The Honorable Mention perk (granted to all players by default) now increases Honor Point gains by 50% (was 10%).
  • After you gain 4000 Conquest (a weekly cap increase) on one of your characters on an account, all character son that account gain a buff granting them 50% increased Conquest Point gains until the next weekly reset.

Legendary Questline

  • Sigils of Wisdom and Sigils of Power now have a substantially increased drop rate from end bosses in Celestial Dungeons.
  • Sigils of Wisdom and Sigils of Power can now be purchased with 60 August Stone Fragments from the Avatar of the August Celestial.
    • These will only be visible to players who are on the quest "The Strength of One's Foes" and do not have 10 of each Sigil already.

Experience and Reputation

  • The Blacktalon Quartermaster now offers a new Grand Commendation at Revered reputation. When consumed, your account gains a permanent increase to reputation gains for The Black Prince faction for all characters on the account.
  • The Experience bonus gained by level 85-90 characters has been increased to 65% (was 10%).

Who cares? Blizzard already ruined MoP Classic. First by doing changes, balancing, and new made up stuff added to the game, and now with realm transfers?

Everything with how these realm consolidations are being done and handled is wrong.

The Real Classic Playerbase needs to stand up for themselves.

Time constraints excuse, for what?

Take all the time needed to do this correctly. It’s already been 5 years since taking peoples money for transfers while creating this problem.

Makes zero sense why PvP realms aren’t simply being merged into a virtual PvP cluster realm.

Default no action merging:

  • PvE Realms → Virtual PvE Cluster (OriginalCharacterName - OriginalServerName after the character name)
  • PvP Realms → Virtual PvP Cluster (OriginalCharacterName - OriginalServerName after the character name)
  • RP-PvP Realms → Stay as their own thing
  • RP Realms → Stay as their own thing

Free transfers to any realm a player wants for those who no longer wish to be on a PvE realm or no longer wish to be on a PvP realm, the Virtual Clusters.

Faction balancing enabled on all realms.

No one loses server identity, no one loses guilds or guild banks, no one loses. Just do it correctly, take all the time you need.

The players that are not currently subscribed or actively paying attention to playing the game will lose the greatest, coming back to servers with no players on it. If they choose to stay and play, transferring to a realm where they’ve surely already lost their character names.

Playing Blizzard servers is supposed to be the best experience and the safest place to keep time invested characters, able to always come back to your characters and play them after a break. Now it feels like a private server where the realms are dead, you lose your guild, guild bank, names, everything every few years.

Your subscription for World of Warcraft® Subscription - 1 Month has been canceled. You’ll no longer be charged, though you can still play until your current subscription expires on December 25 2024 04:20 PM (PST). Manage your account at any time on renewing your subscription!

so you guys lock new character creations on any locked servers, and lock creation on the new server, so you can only transfer then namechange? and then the name changes all go on sale so blizzard can make a quick buck?? along with launching the server 4 hours before the projected time, leading to people not being ready to be online. makes me want to stop playing the game this is unreal

On July 30th you mentioned there would be a list of future seasonal rewards for Challenge Modes content, any chance you can give an update on that?

why do you hate arcane mages? Every expansion you hate arcane mages. They arent even viable in pvp and youve made them worse. Why do you hate arcane mages?

EDIT: Looks like the HD Texture option is on the client again, I must have missed it :stuck_out_tongue:

Not sure why you are forcing mages into a corner where they can only pick one spec for pvp and pve, why nerf arcane? arcane isnt even that good? It’s considered awful even. I am so miffed

BUFF HUNTERS, we’re so mid now thanks to these massive buffs for every other spec in the game.

Huh? Arcane is (was?) clearly one of the best dps specs in the game.

These changes are PvE changes.

no one cares about raiding im talking about pvp

Well you’re in luck, literally no balance change they’ve made has had any impact on PvP.

Can we please review 10 man holy priest and acknowledge how incredibly under buffed it is in 10 man?

Hire me blizzard and I’ll fix it myself. So fed up with being a throughput healer who is out classed in throughput by 3/4 other non throughput healers.

Please buff single target healing and the interaction we have with flash of heal. 25 man players will not do this and it’s solely a 10 man buff

You’re upset because the servers actually came up before the projected time?
That’s a first…

Are you that dense? or are you dented?
It’s called context clues.
Obviously servers coming up before projected time is good but not when name changes are being put on sale for a first-come-first-served basis.
This is yet another instance of Blizzard fumbling when it comes to communication and positive changes, and abuse of their most fervent fanbase and loyal players.
Having name change services be enabled on a complete fresh server is a fumble. Putting those services on sale is blatant greed.

its crazy how you ignored the reason why its upsetting LOL

way more people care about raiding than pvp lol. the balance changes only apply to pve anyway, so whining about them for the sake of pvp means nothing

I understand the context. You’re upset at the name change debacle. But i can almost promise that your names will be safe (they look like random generator names)
Also, why claim that classic players are the most loyal and fervent when you’re threatening to quit over a name?

bro thinks these are the main names thats crazy

I can assure you that this is a random alt that the forum chose to display. I have original and hard to get names on my mains.

Nobody wants to have a buckass î in their name because their original was taken by some bot who logged in right away when servers unexpected came up before projected time, transfer to one of the new servers, and paid to get a name change.

Is the experience buff working? I just did a test dungeon and getting about the same amount of xp as before the patch. Can anyone else confirm this is working.
