Missing Abomination Limb

My BDK is really missing this =( It was the best ability to get groups together.

they did exactly what i suggested , they buffed dancing rune weapon, it may even do MORE damage than abomb,

if you are wondering why i am not crying and stomping around about losing it, I did not care for the blurry black animation it had. maybe it was a server drag or something?

Not sure if it was ever used for damage. It was a great tool for gathering mobs and keeping them in a group.

Let’s hope the new talents for Midnight introduce something that can help BDK.

It seems like taking abomination limb away is a huge L for everyone. DK’s seemed to love it, but Blizzard didn’t want to balance it or something, dunno.

Abom Limb makes it possible to go into that last trash of Gambit and pull the casters with the big guys, at least the first pack, because you can just Abom Limb everything and nothing can cast, it and Sigils had to be nerfed pretty badly, otherwise DH/BDK will never not be played, you’d have a serious design issue.

Lets face it, they are balancing the dungeons around what you can pull at any given moment and if you can pull 20 mobs, it’s gonna break the dungeon design.

It seems like making some mobs immune to that spell would have been a clean solution.

I don’t miss dying to random mechanics just because it was part of people’s rotations.
Sorry, as much as it was a neat and definitely overpowered ability in certain situations… by and large it was an ability that either overperformed between a combination of damage and utility, or it would kill entire raid groups.

Not a great state for an ability to exist in.

Still don’t know why you have to burn points to get Gorefiend’s. Blood Death Knight’s iconic cc.

Would be funny if that replaced Abom. Would make Frost and Unholy real interesting.

They’re probably afraid of Gorefiend abuse in key tournaments or something stupid. I don’t think the player base grasps how powerful mass grips are in dungeons. They completely trivialize basically any pull, the game isn’t deep enough to counter it, all mobs can do is cast, they don’t do anything else and have bad AI.

The most they can do is leap backwards.

It wasn’t overpowered at all.
They removed it because of PVP.

Apparently gripping someone is toxic, but gripping an entire group to a warlock’s anchor portal point isn’t.

Don’t pick out one single thing and pretend that’s all what one said. Read the full thing: “In certain situations.”

None of this has to do with PvP and they explained why they removed it. Simple as that; it created situations where in PvE certain mechanics are nullified in a way that isn’t good for the game when the same ability also regularly causes groups to wipe and is part of someone’s normal rotation. Those three in combination is an amazing recipe for disaster.

Which is why they went ahead and made Death Grip more potent by making it able to move more mobs. Simple as that.

it always feels like someone at bliz got beat in pvp to these abilities, cried to Ion about it and he took a sledge hammer to the spec lmao.

I just run GFG now when doing certain dungeons like Priory. Requires sacrificing some powerful talents but the tradeoff is worth it.

VDH can just have a better mass grip that BDK as well

I like Legion of Souls a bit better because it has a lower cooldowns, keeps the visual effects and causes you to trigger a bunch of procs and deal huge damage. My main issue with Abomination Limb was that it was fun to use, but had to wait a while before using it again.
