This isn’t typical pvp. What other pvp game can someone take over your character for as long as they wish?
Same thing happened to me a few days ago. A priest and mage kept mind controlling/ sheeping me for 5min. Had to close entire game and wait for them to leave.
You have to run to a gy outside the zone you died in.
Or, just hop on the boat between Kalimdor/Eastern Kingdoms, you rez automatically when you get to the other continent.
I just couldn’t help but lol at this video clip. You run out and picked a fight with skulls and get beaten like a rented mule because of it while everyone else just watched you get what you deserved.
PvP happened on a PvP server.
That’s why it was eventually changed for CC to not last their entire duration in PvP. But this is Classic and it’s not designed in ways that most people would consider in 2019.

I don’t see anything wrong here.
- I will note, your server is pretty damn passive in terms of PVP. I see tons of Horde not doing anything. That sucks.
BUT,
You could have ran to the instance. Gouge, Kick, Blind, Vanish, Cheap Shot, Sprint. Those all buy seconds to that instance portal right there.
You let something bother you that shouldn’t have.
I hereby judge this scenario as P.E.B.K.A.C.

PvP happened on a PvP server.
I rerolled off a pvp server as soon as my friend stopped playing in classic. Never regretted that decision.
You have the choice to make going to a pvp server exclusively means greifing. If “normal” world pvp is what you want you’re best off going to an RP server and participating in events.
It was a skull alliance player too, it literally makes me balk.
He could have just sprinted over to GY if that’s what he needed or went back into Library and wait his flag out. Nope, he runs out and tries to stun lock a skull player (a MAGE at that) and gets owned because of it.
I saw someone get put in their place.
And by the way next time try ALT+F4 when you want to get out of that situation.

I specifically remember during Vanilla being in a WSG where a mage sheeped me like 5 times to keep me locked down because I had the flag and he was waiting for teammates to show up. I remember these kinds of shenanigans where people endlessly CC you.
And yes there’s a reason why these things got nerfed in future updates, but even stuff like this ultimately wasn’t considered griefing in PvP combat. Same faction griefing is entirely different though, but this wasn’t that. Even if it was reportable they’d have to be doing it for more than the ~5 minutes they did it for to really be actioned for it anyways.
Next time don’t pick a fight with a couple of skulls.
Edit: FYI, these types of shenanigans do happen every day. Usually it’s just on Zeps or boats though.
Sorry it’s not a cool pvp video unless someone goes cliff diving.

I did sprint and Vanish and they would keep a dot on me also. I hope it happens to you then maybe you will get off your high horse.
No there isn’t. Provide a link proving that a pvp action, i.e. Mind Control has ever been considered griefing on a pvp server.

LOL you got owned, and yes there was alot you could’ve done. You had many chances to LoS his mind control/sheep and even zone in at multiple points.

After you realized what was happening you should have gotten up and walked away for 5 minutes. If you stopped moving they likely just would have gotten you killed and went for another target and by the time you came back your flag would have dropped. Either that or just alt F4’d out.
Kick, gouge, vanish, line of sight.
So many times you just stood there or waddled around.
You might fair better on a PVE server where you don’t have to worry about getting attacked.
