Midnight's First Nemesis is gonna have its own "HoF" lol

Your +11 delve will have bursting, greivous, infested, overflowing and a surprise reaping at the last boss. No parsing, just pain.

I knew they would eventually figure out a way to screw up delves lol now there’s a race to world first for delving  next thing you know we’re gonna have a race to world first for making a basic campfire or race the world first for being the first person into the Goldshire Inn.

I play fairly casually, have never CE raided in the modern era and did kyveza week 0 in s2 gear. I’d be arrogant to think there weren’t others like me who enjoy grinding a challenge despite not having a group of 19 other people to meet up with regularly.

Definitely not for me but I don’t think it’s going to cause much of a change in who is killing her early. Plenty of primarily raid/M+ players were already going in to get her down as soon as she was available.

It will just go to the same people that were already killing it during preseason.

Right, you did that without a HoF achievement to chase. Thanks for proving my point.

As long as they don’t try to make it mandatory or default to Delves somehow, OK.

Me? I dropped the Ky’veza quest from Brann the first time she showed up on her own, randomly, in the middle of a pull of elite mobs, in a Delve… and never looked back. I don’t need random boss sneak attacks in my daily enjoyment content, it adds nothing what so ever to my personal engagement or experience.

If the Nemesises… Nemesi… whatever… become part of the standard Delve or open world experience… I’m done.

I think it was a mistake to let the nemesis encounter be open during preseason, especially when Underpin wasn’t.

I doubt they will, it’ll be an optional challenge just like those who only care about pushing title keys or w/e they do.

Tbf Prey is kinda something like that but for open world lol.

Your entire post was a question about whether or not anyone outside of sweaty hof raiders would enjoy this. I would enjoy this. That does not confirm a point you didn’t even make. Hope this helps

Interesting.

I think it’s been proven that while gear helps, it’s really not going to win the fight: We had naked SPriests and other characters manage the prior bosses with no gear, and, yeah, they are technically doable without gear.

If you can survive the autoattacks then you can do the mechanics. Zekky stops autoattacking in Phase 2, you can put distance between you and Underpin, Ky’veza is the most dangerous autoattacker but if you have the proper tools and class it’s doable.

So, I dunno! It’s really going to depend on just how hard the boss is, and what classes are most effective against it.

Gear advantage could be dealt with by artificially putting the player at a certain ilvl, like when people do the modern mage tower.

Class / spec advantage couldn’t realistically be dealt with though. A singular encounter is always going to end up being a lot easier for some specs than others. The only way to realistically adjust for that is not to have a “general” eligibility for the Hall of Fame, but instead to sub-divide it, i.e., something like, “the first 100 people of each spec to do it.”

You also wouldn’t want to encourage the same people who have mastered the encounter to eat up slots on multiple characters though (a few might be tempted), so you would make it account-wide, such that when a person has unlocked it on any spec, they’ve got their slot, and cannot take up remaining slots.

So far all indications are that Pray is entirely voluntary. (Debates about “voluntary” when things are gated behind certain content aside for the moment…)

If that were to change… then I guess another 10 year hiatus for me would be in the works.

To be fair, Zekvir was nerfed when that happened. I don’t think we’re gonna see someone fight Kyveza naked especially when surviving the Nether Rifts. The fight also has a soft enrage timer when you take into account she gets a damage increase over the duration of the fight.

Yeah, if beta testers are already doing the fight on top of knowing his tricks they’ll just pick the easiest class and then go from there.

Based on class/spec would’ve been better.

Yeah, that’d be the hardest for sure. I want to say the only ones who could maybe realistically get away with it are maybe Pallies and DKs? AMS the Rifts and then Death Strike forever? Although even then I’m not sure it could be done thanks to the ramping damage.

I think the big thing is that you shouldn’t need full Myth track gear to be among the competition! I think it’s going to boil down who can get the song and dance down the fastest. Probably not quest greens but, y’know, some Vet and Champ and maybe it’ll work out.

Cool but it will just be dominated by the few classes that have the best solo kit, and we all know what those classes are.

You did the content without a HoF achievement. You weren’t clamoring for a HoF achievement prior to this announcement. You’ll still do the content if Blizz reneges and doesn’t implement a HoF achievement. So please, sit down.

Love how many people have no clue what they are talking about…

There is no gear advantage. You think mythic raiders running splits are going to take time to go learn a pointless boss that rewards nothing?

Oh and this season Kyveza?? was beaten with last seasons gear week 1.

Can’t really claim other people don’t have a clue then say something like this lol.
