What other expansion removed all addon support?
pretty much every expansion has been referred to as this and WoW still survives. Its not the devs or the expansion that decide what saves or kills wow, its the players
honestly this feels more like forced change, things are moving too quick for this to be blizzard devs deciding this right after releasing the one button rotation change
Midnight is the MAKE expansion! I can’t wait to see new alpha build changes. Also, I would love to see how AWC will look like without addons and CC changes.
Imagine making the game more approachable and more accepting and more new player friendly. When the game needs to be made more simplified and less complicated. And yet some of you have problems with that.
If you aren’t scared about combat addons no longer playing the game for you, Midnight is shaping up to be a solid expansion.
Also so what if it ends up on console?
Simplification was a long time coming. Things have gotten way too complicated compared to vanilla. If the game launched in 2004 with its current classes? It would have bombed.
The only question now is what Blizzard is going to cut/change. Ideally they should simplify without changing / removing long time mechanics that players like about the class. Unfortunately some classes are getting changed in a major way which is a good way to lose long time players of those classes - it’s bait and switch; players don’t appreciate that.
Most change can feel forced. Fortunately, people can vote with their wallets if they truly disagree with it, and continue to express their dismay until a compromise is reached, or the change is reversed.

I didn’t say I was for or against it. Only that it seemingly is going in that direction.
In a business sense it would be super smart for blizzard to get wow on consoles ASAP
Housing will have me hooked to the point where I won’t do the actual starting quest unless it’s a housing quest. It seems like this housing system might be almost as good as the one in Star Wars Galaxies, except you can’t place it just anywhere.
