Midnight Silvermoon RP Question

After I got my PvE main leveled and back into the swing of things, I have pulled up Sister Meri, dusted off her TRP, and prepared her to level up and get back into MG storytelling.

I was disappointed to find that Silvermoon is not visibly populated with RP folks.

Is that not a thing? Is Silvermoon not MG-exclusive like other capital hubs were?

Even in Dornogal, the vast majority of the players around me on MG were other players from MG. I could see filled out TRPs on at least half of the people there, but in Silvermoon, I saw only two while mousing over everyone I could reach.

I was so excited about the prospect of RPing in such a large and well-rendered city, but I’m thinking maybe they didn’t phase it for Moon Guard like Stormwind is?

Am I wrong? Please tell me I’m wrong and that all I had to do was…you know, whatever. Thank you.

I’m uncertain if the campaign quest line is still sharing people in SMC from each other. I know about a week ago I saw a few people who typically RP in Stormwind RPing in SMC when I was ooc doing my PvP grind.

I too am curious about this as well. Anyone have info?

So current content, which is new SMC right now, is phased like all other servers. The rest of RP servers are not phased, so Stormwind and Org to Outland, Pandaria, and everything in between. That is probably one of the main reasons you’re not seeing the same concentration of people.

As for the addons, or lack thereof, could be a few things. Could just be who is around, could also have folks with them turned off because of all the things Blizz did at launch with addons. So, creators are still figuring things out, patching, etc. Hell, I have to turn off TRP when I do arenas or else it throws errors. Part could be that its SMC, a Horde city, rather than Dorn as a neutral one. Alliance folks may be less willing or wanting to RP there, regardless of how pretty.

Beyond any of that, couldnt tell ya

Idk what I’m doing different I just leave everything on and pray when I do content lol

Good to know though I didn’t honestly know that RP add-ons were still conflicting with other add-ons still.

If I was to take a guess, its probably some combination of sArena, MiniCC, and/or FrameSort.

But there are more conflicts than usual this time around. Never had issues in the past.

Ah. I don’t use anything other than QoL add-ons like leatrix and RP add-ons.

With the exception of BattleGroundEnemies. Gotta make sure no stealthies are coming to steal a base.

As was already mentioned, no Silvermoon is (sadly) not phased for RP; however, there are several communities actively fighting that. Currently there’s quite a lot populated with mostly WrA folks as they have a more thriving horde population especially around elven RP to my knowledge.

You can occasionally get lucky and catch a phase other RPers are in. But usually the communities or listing groups in various group finder channels are the trick. Finding RP has been a struggle but one some of us even without being horde are stubbornly trying to ensure. As of yet I’ve not found a Moon Guard primary group or Alliance primary group. Two that I am in are Silvermoon City RP and The Royal Exchange.

The sharding is pretty bad in Silvermoon. Conquest, a large Alliance/Horde multi-guild, multi-day campaign had create anchor groups to get people in the correct phase even as far out as Farstrider Hold so that we could do camp roleplay or whatever.

By and large, the sharding on servers has become a real issue with any sort of large scale roleplay: ToA, WFC, etc… Dornogal was bad as well where often even friends on the same server in the same guild won’t see each other until they share a group.

Technically I think you are able to join parties / raids with other people RPing and they should pull you into their phase of Silvermoon. if you are in communities, or even just asking in general or yelling in SW you may actually find a group already formed.
