I was just watching the video below to see the datamined details about the Brutosaur coming back to the Cash Shop, but after his self promo, the “new splash screen” showed up. Most of the details we had so far indicated that Midnight would be around March 9th with early access happening March 6th. The average Pre-Patch event lasts about 2 weeks for folks to get some random events and gear catchups, the way we have in the past.
If my math is correct, that means we could see early access on Feb 6th and launch on Feb 9th. Does anyone know of an additional source with reliable data that could confirm, or deny what was put on this splash screen?
Legion and TWW were just 2 weeks. So was Wrath with the zombie outbreak. I went and researched them before dropping a 2 week claim. They probably just “fee” longer since we were often in a content drought.
Oh, do you mean the specific events within the prepatch, or the length of the actual prepatch start to finish? Because the Wrath prepatch was 4 weeks long, but yeah the zombie bit was 2 weeks. Err, no that was 3 weeks long
The full TWW prepatch was 4 1/2 weeks long, because of early access.
I mean, that would make sense. Just not sure why a splash screen would be needed to give the date of the data vs the event. We all know the data is coming. But, following that train of thought, that would mean Launch would be Feb 23, with early access on Feb 20, and not March 6th and 9th as previously considered.
I’m just wanting to fact check and have the best possible answer. I am not interested in misleading or misinformation.
Or prepatch will run a little longer to give them time to iron out the massive changes to UI and stat squish. I mean the cata prepatch was 8 weeks long so who knows
True, but the Cata patch changed every zone in the game just about. So I can see that one running longer. This one did change 3 zones, and a city, so it is possible.
Pre-patch events are generally just the end of the pre-patch period. The pre-patch is generally at least a month long, with a few weeks of events leading up to the actual release. That’s to give us time to get used to the changes.
