At first i prefered templar strike for these reasons and then i tried Crusading strikes and it felt better since the introduction of templar that adds more to the rotation. They really need to make Templar strike a 2 combo 1 click generator else it will feel bad imo

What I liked about csaa was weaving it with abilities to maximize hopo. Gaming it to not overcap and waste it felt like a decent skill expression. TS just feels like that ability you press when you can’t press judgment or boj.

because it IS that ability

its filler, nothing more nothing less

Which is a damn shame considering it was so much more previously.

I’m glad to see someone who did play the talent as it is implied to be played.

You’re right, it was a form of skill expression but one with very minor penalty for missing and one that you could get about right most of the time just playing normally.

The irony is most people, that commented and that were disappointed about the removal, were arguing it went against the stated philosophy Blizzard put forward because they didn’t play it as intended.

It created this fascinating dissonance between the removal and the explanation.

The explanation would only makes senses to someone like you.

“Zoomg my addon tells me I will get hp this swing so I can press an spender at 2hp and it will come out!”

Theres nothing special about trying to maximize csaa. Just follow the weakaura or count in your head. I agree with blizzard removing crusasing strikes but their reasoning is not the right one.

Crusading is gone thank god but if theres nothing to track, then what differenxe does it make even performing a “rotation”?

eh kinda wasnt?

the second part shot up in priority only cause it had a timer on it

you just didnt press ts until you literally had nothing else to press in general :dracthyr_shrug: thats not bad tbh, mostly cause it scales with mastery and doesnt do less than a auto. which is all i ever wanted for a CS buff

you can say that about something in every spec. idk if this is the “gotcha” you think it is

Yeah but the damage it gave out during DF was insane, enough to make it something of a viable alternative to csaa; it wasn’t a filler as it is now.

The fact that they nerfed the damage now with TS, as opposed to buffing it, is truly puzzling to me.

In relative terms maybe.

The absolute value of AP attached only got stronger after DF.

The AP conversion TS has now is stronger than what it has in DF.

There was a short span where the second strike was 120% AP with guaranteed crit but it got nerf rather quickly to 88%

In TWW it lost the 100% crit and gain a DoT which makes it scale better but the addition of new mechanics made it so CSAA remained the clear winner.

If you look up the changelogs of it, it never hit stronger than it does now (in a vaccum).

Everything else considered, when it came out, both choices were much closer than now for sure.

Exactly my point, no argument. TS might have been something of an alternative to consider other than csaa waaay back when, but as time went by, as you’ve stated, csaa just moved ahead more and more with the addition of new mechanics.

My point is that although csaa proved superior, it wasn’t considered “filler” as Arahgon stated. Inferior, maybe, but not filler.

My apologies. When I said TS has gotten nerfed, my mind was thinking about the next expansion, not as it is now.

sure per gcd it was solid

but you still ended up pressing it when you had nothing else to press :man_shrugging:

it wasnt bad tho, 3% behind csaa is a solid margin

heck ts wouldnt be dead in tww if rg didnt exist.
